**Weapon Chart is updated!** imgur.com/jLknx.jpgFirst and foremost, I am doing this to help out the community and show some real proof of any big changes made in Black Ops to improve on the crappy parts of MW2. This is from a legit retail copy of the game. Couple of notes: - Silencers were not tested. From my tinkering around, it seems that not ONLY does the damage range reduce like in MW2, but it DOES seem that the max damage may taper off. Or that I didn't go far enough for my long shot. (Or maybe there is an EXTREME distance as well) The AK47 and Galil w/ silencers become 4 shot at long range. - There is a big variety for SMGs in terms of attachments. - Recoil is pretty significant for the SMGs and ARs in general. Grip seems to be extremely useful, if not mandatory for SMGs. Second - if you hated Skill Cannons, then you will love Flak Jacket. I took a video showing how effective flak jacket is against Skill Cannons and explosives. Skill Cannons themselves don't seem as powerful either (probably the same or a bit weaker than a normal non danger close Skill Cannon in MW2) Third - To refute another posters video, I showed sniper rifles and their damage in video form. You can see that they are one shot kills to the upper chest (for the most part). I then also tested out knife lunge distances and a potential blade runner class (which i hope doesn't get abused to hell) Finally, I tried some quickscoping. You can see that the crosshair is moving when you scope in. Seems to be quite hard to railgun. I'll be potentially making more videos and taking requests in terms of testing certain things out tomorrow. I won't get around to it until tomorrow night or Friday though. I definitely feel I'm a better source to test things out than people who are playing on a modded console with a burnt game. PS- you are my bro, bro.

The Skorpion, M14, M60... they all seem to be emulating their COD4 versions. Maybe not 100% identical, but damn close. Gosh darn golly gee whiz, this is gonna be a long weapon chart.I'm glad I kind of blindly stumbled into making the new layout and palette this way. It's going to offer a very tiny file size and a very clean, tight look (and no struggling with their placement) in comparison to what I've made before... though the inclusion of the weapon HUD images will probably make the kBs skyrocket.

I'm struggling to get my head around why some of the SMG get better attachments than others while the ARs all get access to everything... MP5k and 74u will dominate this category IMO, big clips and the 74u has a whole arsenal of attachments.

Hi all, with BO coming out soon, I thought why not give this forum a visit again. I sold all my COD's so didn't had the need to check this site last couple of months. But if you want stats, this is the place to be : )
And I see you already made some very good progessions on analyzing BO, thank you guys!

also, are all of the gun tests so far WITHOUT attachments? because i believe treyarch will try to balance attachments by reducing the power/range of the gun on some of them

yeah, KPM and TTK would be two nice statistics to have since people usually ovelook RPM and clip size when factoring in guns. however it still is without to say, recoil sitll plays a factor

Can you clarify the dual attachment possibilities--this thread claims any under mounted attachment rules out optics and that rapid fire imposes similar restrictions on extended mag? Are silencers penalized as well? It strikes me as degrading the performance options of Warlord not to mention making grenade launchers doubly unattractive given the power of Flak Jacket.

Meh, I guess by not having a OSOK for snipers w/ silencer attachments in core modes, it would make them balanced. Otherwise, there would almost be no point not having the silencer attachment for pro snipers.
It will be useful in hardcore mode though definitely.

Looking at the few videos that show kills with it, it is a clone of WaW's thrower. Two hit kill, no actual over time damage.

flamethrower range is very short, but if someone is point blank they are killed extremely quickly. probably W@W copy.

What about shotgun ranges? Are we talking more COD4ish or MW2ish type ranges for the shotguns? If you could make comparisons to previous guns that would be lovely. Didn't play W@W for more than 3 days so I have no idea what their shotgun ranges were like. If this was already talked about somewhere else on the forums please direct me

Meeheheeeehhhh... well after looking around the forums here I do believe they said the SPAS was the fastest shooting shotgun out of the bunch so it might be the weakest. I guess I'll just have to see for myself how these things work. I was hoping that they would make the shotties more or less like they were in MW2 (even a small tone down would be fine) since it was a real piece of work to get in acceptable range with shotties in COD4. But oh well... I'm still gonna use em to death to start out

You have to remember that the SPAS-12 was a borderline OP. You can easily snipe people with it.
I think COD4 ranges work better. It IS a shotgun, and it's supposed to dominate CQB, but leave SMGs a fighting chance.

The no SP SPAS-12 wasn't OP. At times you needed 3 pump action shots to kill. Which is like 3 seconds of shooting. Without cover you were still dead at the edge of SPAS's range against competent players. And still, the SPAS is the 2nd strongest shotty with the most range of the MW2 shotguns (besides post-patch single 1887 but I can count on one hand how many times I've seen that used). Not saying that all the shotties in BO should be like the SPAS but if they have something like Striker range then I'll be perfectly fine with that. COD4 shotties felt more like AA12 ranges to me... maybe even a little smaller than that. Eh I know I'm whining before I've even played the game so I guess I should just wait in see. I'm just a lil anxious if you cant tell
