Yup, no real surprises there.
I may expand the simulation forone o r two guns and produce plots showing where each individual shot in a burst is likely to go. Think I will choose the Galil V AK47, as this covers 4 guns (and looks as if the Famas may get a nerf).

Recently I have been using the Galil. Normally I never use the Galil/ Enfield but the AK and Commando are some of my favorite weapons. Even though the stats say Galil/ Enfield the will recenter perfectly more, I am more accurate with long-range 2/3-round-bursts of the AK/ Commando. This makes sense because the majority of my shots land in the abdomen/ crotch area. So with vertical recoil, subsequent shots will continue hitting the body. But the recoil to the right will pull my crosshairs off the enemy and make me miss.

I too get on better with the AK, but for absolute accuracy whilst longshotting in 2 round bursts the Galil is marginally the better choice. I am talking about serious longshotting here; "taking out snipers on the Array mast" longshotting.
For longer bursts (3-4), the AK/Commando are better, or for really long bursts at stationary targets, the Skorpion (yes, it really does work!)
RF actually seems to have a substantial effect on its recoil as well, which is disappointing.
Thanks.
Yes, grip just a straight line. Not a huge effect upon percentage of shots recentered though, which is why I don't waste the attachment slot on grip (emags instead).
Never got on well with RF, all too easy to burn off the small clip, and longshotting compromised.
And the green dots are just the 2nd and 3rd shots? Well gosh darn golly gee whiz, no wonder I have to single-shot the gosh darn golly gee whiz thing. Even then it shoots slower than a gosh darn golly gee whiz M14... I only use it on my strela class anyway.
Thanks for the chart.

No bother. Yes; green = shots 2 and 3; blue = shots 4 to 10.
Note how ZERO blue shots are recentered.
I wouldn't totally despise this setup for longsotting though, as long as you fire in single shots. It still does 40 damage at range and you get more ammo than the HK21 and Stoner.

But why bother when you can ride the Pig?
Yeah, it didn't work. I was better off with an ASP.

I'm currently on the RPK right now (trying to get at least 550+ kills with all weapons). And it's frustrating. Sometimes I'll do ok, with maybe a 2 KD. Other times it's hell, not being able to do anything. The one thing that the RPK is not, is consistent. And that's what I don't like. I want a weapon that works with me, not against me. There is essentially nothing the RPK does better than ARs. Nothing. You have a barely noticeable hipfire advantage against them (but only when you are not moving), which the higher mobility of the ARs easily trumps. "But wait!", you might say, "what about the lack of damage drop off? Surely that counts for something at long range?" Nope. The recoil is so high, even when you burst fire, you'll be off target and the guy with the AR will kill you even though it takes him an extra bullet.

RPK certainly looks like a challenging weapon, but I am going to give it a serious go. Mastering this gun Is, I suspect, all about getting used to the strong upwards recoil.
On the plus side, the gun has 80 rounds with emags (the only sensible choice, IMO), and with the Wii, you get double total ammo as well (as it should be, IMO). 80 rounds means that I can just spray and spray and spray, and I intend to take advantage of that!
The answer to longshotting recoil is to single shot, as there is virtually zero chance that the 2nd and 3rd shots will be on target (7% and 3% respectively).
Medium range is all about compensating for the recoil, I suspect.

Will do asasa. Will choose fire times of 0.125 & 0.140. May also do comparable plots for M14, with and without grip.
And no need to promise that this will be your last, it is no bother at all, just copying and pasting numbers into my spreadsheet. And the results are interesting.
