I ran the simulation several times, and there is some slight variation, but the plot I posted is pretty representative. Occasionally you get some stray bursts that deviate from the main body of the plot, but that is random numbers for you.

I tried increasing the number of bursts but this spoils the look of the plot, and I'm not sure anything is gained by seeing the few random stray bursts.

And yes, P90 definately has reduced spread with RF. BUT....

The guns with RF will definately recenter less frequently than non RF guns. The much reduced number of green dots on the axes clearly shows this. Important when longshotting.

Yup, looks like they did put some thought into the ACR; looks quite deadly for medium range work with Kick. Assuming that the 20% viewkick reduction figure is correct, of course.

I know that's a lot but that's ultimately what these requests are boiling down to.

Just wondering what the plot would be for the CM901 with the Shotgun/GL attachment, as those boost the RoF, and then what it would be like with the Recoil Proficiency on top of that?

I will start on the SMGs.

I don't have info on the effects of Grip yet.

EDIT - I think I am going to hold off just a bit longer, just to gain confidence in the interpretation of Kick and RF. It is quite a a bit of work, and I want to be sure that I am on the right track before I start. And I would like to get centerspeed info on Grip + other attachments.

It is still early days yet.

OK, so I have started adding plots showing the effects of Kick, RF to the OP. There are a lot of blank spaces; please be patient.

Any comments on layout would be welcome; there is a lot to cram in. Is a row of 6 plots too wide, for instance?

I want my Skorpion back. I liked it's recoil with RF better. I use RF and extended mags on the MP7 and it kicks upwards pretty hard. I don't like the irons as much either. I'll try it out more, but I was hoping it'd be the new Skorpion for me, statistically it should be better I guess. I just don't know why they had to turn the Skorp into crap. It was never that popular in the first place.

I haven't tried it but I would be tempted to go for MP7 + Kick; without RF. I have always favoured accuracy over spamming lead.

Edit - and I too mourn the passing of the BO Skorpion. Used to love longshotting those snipers, as well as spraying people down at close range.

I'm a little confused.. How was the kick value applied to the guns? What formula did you use for kick?

I'm assuming that , will you put grip + kick as well as rapid fire on lmgs eventually too then..


Other than that, if your graphs are true, some guns actually seem to be better off with rapid + kick vs no kick + rapid fire..?

^ yes, guns behave in different ways with RF added. With some it makes little difference or makes the spread worse, but with others it actually improves (tightens) the spread,

But RF will always reduce the proportion of shots that are recentered when the next round is fired. As asasa stated earlier in this thread.

The information on this forum is that Kick reduces the viewkick figures by 20%, and that is what I have applied. I must add this explanation to the OP.

The plots in the op should show this.

P90 and PM9 look as if spread is reduced with RF

MP7 worse (but still very tight)

Edit - take a look at mannon's long post on page 3 which describes why RF can sometimes reduce spread.

PP90M looks more tempting every time I get killed by it. That 6 shot kill beyond max damage range is a real turnoff though.

Excellent. I'd like to see the burst ARs with RF and RF + kick. I feel like the 3rd shot on the type 95 with RF goes way off sometimes

Will do the RF plots for the 3 round burst fire guns.

Is this info correct?

Rapid Fire AttachmentThe Modern Warfare 3 Rapid Fire Attachment increases the speed at which a weapon fires by 20%. It therefore raises a weapon’s damage per second capacity but consumes ammunition much more quickly and also makes the recoil more difficult to control. It can be used on the M16A4 and Type 95 assault rifles, sub machine guns, and light machine guns. Both of the assault rifles you can attach it to are burst fire weapons. The advantage here is that it makes the grouping of the shots tighter than normal increasing the odds of all 3 bullets hitting the target and resulting in a one burst kill
