I think there should be charts made for all the weapons when crouching or prone, because I am finding that even the PKP w/out kick, grip, or stability is like a laser gun when you are prone and very easy to stay on target with if you are crouching.
I would look into this if someone could supply me with hard data on the effects on kick and centerspeed of crouching and going prone
Question: would it be easy to do a recoil chart for CoD4's guns? All the stats are on the main xanga page for the guns. If it wouldn't take a while or a lot of work, that is.
Easy enough, but still quite a bit of work involved. I'll post a separate thread to see how much interest there would be.
Just curious, do you plan on making charts for SRs?
Yes; similar to the ones in my stickied Black Ops recoil post. May be a week or 2 yet. And I might even buy MW3!
I have been neglecting this thread a little lately, as I have been busy on another forum (EA have completely destroyed Battlefield Play4Free; and I'll not be playing again).

I know that there are separate variables for hipfire recoil and ADS recoil, but haven't they been traditionally set to the same values in CoD games with the only real difference being the hipfire spread which obviously isn't applied in ADS?
In such a case really the only differences would be the spread which you could basically visualize by turning all of the dots in the recoil charts into circles since each dot represents the aim point when that shot was fired. A circle would then represent the hipfire spread where a shot could have been fired at that moment. (Assuming hipfire spread is actually circular, or rather conical.)

didnt expect them, just mentioned it.
i noticed the mp7 was shaking left and right when in reality it doesnt do that.. then tested a lot of other weapons and it seems that none have the same hipfire/ads recoil. acr has no vertical from the hip, for example

Well, I am in the really strange position of having to look at my own charts to help me decide which gun to go for!
M4 looks like a good bet, and I am enjoying the L86 + kick.
But seriously out of practice on the Wii, past 3 months or so been spent playing Battlefield Play4Free on PC (not continuously, you understand). Having to readjust sensitivity settings upwards (default is "slug" speed), and learning the maps the hard way. Some OK scores but some not so OK!
so with the acr, you have to stop shooting to get the shots back onto the target?
If you are longshotting, where you want absolute accuracy, then yes.
But then again, maybe not. I have based my simulation upon the rate of fire given in the game guides, but the actual rate of fire may be 10% less (see freds thread on this). If this is true, then some shots with kick will be "on target". But not many.
Hey psijaka, could you make a plot of the AK + exmags (lower RPM). Would like to see whether it becomes more accurate, due to reduced RPM
Will do, using fred's figures.
EMags does not influence the ROF, by the way; the lower ROF is believed to apply with or without EM. See freds post for more details. EDIT - ah I see you have found fred's thread.

yep that post initiated my wish for this recoil plot, but I did misunderstood the info, thinking the exmags reduced the RoF. But you're saying RoF was always lower and using attachments doesn't change a thing?

That seems to be the consensus. The issue is that the guns appear to fire at a lower rate than that specified in the game guide.
ps - actually bought MW3 for the Wii yesterday; looking forward to trying out the guns that I have done so much work on!
I will let you know right now that your charts won't translate well on the Wii version. Every automatic gun has one of 2 firerates: 600RPM or 900RPM (MP7 is the only exception with about 700RPM). Also, Rapid Fire doesn't work on Type-95, PP90M1, PM-9, PKP Pecheneg, and M60E4

Oh, and you're my bro, bro (did I say it right?)
Welcome to the forum, falufa, and thanks for the information, even if it is disturbing.
How did you find this out, by the way?
Oh, you almost said it right, near enough anyway, but it is only necessary to say it when you start your first new thread, not your first post. Then you get to be a true bro!

I went on a private match and tested the time it takes to empty a full magazine. I first posted about this on Gamefaqs and some of the posters there tested it as well, with similar results.

Thanks; I'll add something about this to the opening post.
Could you post the url of your gamefaqs post please; I'd like to investigate further.
