Knife recovery times & free EC
« Thread Started on Nov 29, 2011, 11:27am »

Noticed two things yesterday:

  • Some weapons have a quick knife recovery
  • AA12's EC bonus only applies while you are holding the weapon (does not affect the secondary)

Anyone else know some weapons with fast knife times? Or any other weapons with free Extreme Conditioning?

Guns with quick recovery time (that I have noticed so far):

  • Magnum
  • Deagle (I think)
  • USP
  • Striker

USP akimbo'd seems to have faster recovery than just holding single USP. Much like MW2.

AA12 gets a sprint bonus? I did not know that. What I did know is that the USAS gets one, too. The sprint bonus stacks with ExCon for more sprinting fun.

I feel like I run longer with the Striker too, but I'm not sure. I will run tests later, and post a video. Perhaps this applies to all shotguns. Note that I usually run with Shotguns using Recon Pro (why? because until I get EMag+Damage, I might as well help the team out when I die because of the lack of power only giving me a hitmarker)

This is almost like Marathon. It's really fun!

I think this makes the USAS at least somewhat viable as compared to the SPAS or Striker.

I've felt like I win far more 'knife fights' while holding a sniper rifle. perhaps melee is built in to snipers?

I meant USAS, I think. I get them confused, sorry.

I noticed that the KSG can cancel it's entire pump animation with a knife. With he SPAS you can't cancel the animation, you can only attempt a knife right after the shot is fired.

What attachment needs to be on the USAS to get the sprint bonus!?!?!?!?!?!?

Or does it need one at all?

It doesn't need any attachment. Use whatever you want.

I like being able to run for longer than usual. I hate the USAS' slow fire rate.

The KSG's pump animation can be canceled, but you have to suffer through MW3's forced weapon swapping animations no matter how fast you press switch weapon, so the time saved between shots is not much.
