 MG36+Grip = Slower RPM
« Thread Started on Dec 18, 2011, 9:21pm »

Yet another arbitrary weapon attachment quirk:

Attaching a Grip to the MG36 appears to slow the rate of fire by roughly 25%. Using a stopwatch in my private sessions, I found the following:

100 rounds fired without Grip: ~8.2 seconds.
100 rounds fired with Grip: ~10.4 seconds.

Please verify this independently, and post your conclusions.

My guess is that this was IW's way of ensuring that the MG36 had no chance of ever beating out another weapon, much less being useful.

Is this and other weapon quirks already common knowledge? If so, is there a thread that lays out all the attachment/RPM irregularities?

Yep, it is true. Also there are bugs with USAS12 and ext.mags and SPAS12.

Yes. By about 19%. See this thread from a month ago:

Thanks Fred. Is this info on RPM irregularities compiled in a chart anywhere? Or is it all just casually mentioned in a thread here and there?

It's stuff like this that leaves the casual COD nerd like myself trying to make sense of it all.

Go to the top of the thread he linked. There's a spreadsheet.

Wow, thanks crocs.

Sorry about the redundant thread. I hope this gets deleted.

You HD guys have it lucky..

At least 2 people from the Wii community have tested that the RoF for all ARs (minus Fad) have a RoF of 600 RPM, as well as the P90, UMP, and MP5! >_>

And rapid fire doesn't work on a couple of smgs and LMGs, and on the Type95.

Does RF overcome the grip ROF reduction, or does it add to the normal fire rate?

The rapid fire does increase the ROF when using grip by about 25%, but this only returns it to what it'd be normally ... which is pretty much a waste of an attachment.

I'd advise to not use grip on an MG36 unless you want a very low recoil automatic LMG.
