thats unbelievable.

i just finished getting 2.5k kills with the model and that never happened to me. steady aim & neither damage or range and only hipfiring, and I rarely had to shoot more than twice for a kill, even at max range. for real. most enemies within my general effective range i always killed in one shot. i've seen plenty of videos like the one above, but it never happened to me. I have good connection on the ps3. whats the reason for it? it can't possibly be due to connection problems, since neither of them are moving, right?? could it be the laptop-headshot glitch? and just really unlucky pellets?

That's not the model's fault in that vid, it's a problem with hit detection while someone's on a laptop. Like in this video

They do have some faulty hit detection on the laptop killstreaks. The thing is the guy registered 2 hitmarkers previous to the kill. The sniper vid had no hitmarkers at all. Some of those pellets were landing. The fact is that the base 1887 is weak enough to get 3 hitmarkers at point blank range. That should not be the case.

Also there are tons of vids around of close range shotgun hitmarkers when people are not in killstreaks.

I like the mw system better. I think its silly that movement can effect the width of shotgun spread. It penalizes agression by making the spread widen with movement.

On the contrary, it makes them easier to use.close range its win/win-easier to aim and little change in power.long range its a problem,I agree. Can't expect players to stop or crouch.

I remember doing some private match testing a few years ago w/ the M1014 and W1200 RDS, I remember the pellet went dead center but it was years ago so my memory may not be accurate and I don't have CoD4 anymore so I can't test. If I had the game I'd test it myself

Same messages as before:
- Change the close range damage on the pump-actions to 40
- change the AA-12 to 20-10 and increase its starting ammo if possible
- increase the USAS to 25-8 (although I wouldn't get your hopes up on this one.)

GHANDI also explicitly asked that people not start spamming gun balance posts. All he said is, he'll bring it up again with the weapons team. I expect jack squat to come of this, like the last 3 times he brought it up with them. I know it sucks, because the shotguns are just crap, but they aren't going to touch them and they've said that many times.

Hey guys I just made a couple of post on the TU and hot fix thread with shotguns as the subject. I want as many people as possible to get in there and support the effort/spark general shotgun discussion.

I expect everyone involved to get thier posts deleted and if you keep pressing you will most likely get banned so if you want to be in this for the long haul make a couple of different accounts and save your posts on your computer so you can repost them later.

I don't care. I will keep going. There is one thing I can garentee. If shotguns don't get fixed in this game they wont Foxtrot them up in the next one because of what we are doing.

I don't have much hope of them buffing the shotguns. If they can't find any evidence to prove shotguns are fine in 7 months and refuse to acknowledge any arguments that show they need to be buffed then they're just going to sit on this issue until it goes away. They only need to hold out for another 5 months against all of bricks posts before the community will move on to BO2. They're biased pricks and won't admit it. Theres nothing to be done about that.

Out of 48 IW employees there were 2500 shotgun kills between all of them. And better yet 2000 of them were between four of them. Thats pathetic, I have the amount of kills on the following shotguns:
Striker- 4300 kills ( Please don't get on me with this one)
USAS- 1900 kills
SPAS- 1500 kills
Model- 300 kills (this one really blows)
KSG- 1900 kills
AA12- 2400 kills (this one was awesome before the emags glitch was patched, now its total garbage, makes me sad)

So there you go, I have a total of around 12,300 kills with shotguns. And 48 of them combined had 2500 kills with shotguns. So I suppose there is no question about why IW seems so out of touch with the community.

That is ridiculous. No wonder Incontinence Ward can't get their heads around the shotguns.

People's attitudes generally are so bizarre to them actually:

I play with a clan (mostly comprised of much better and more experienced players than me) and with a couple of exceptions pretty much no one but me ever uses a shotgun, because they know they can't do very well with them. And yet I still constantly hear people complaining when they get killed by one. It drives me nuts!

Although actually the shotgun haters are the ones who are nuts: It's called Cognitive Dissonance: when people hold two rival contradictary views at the same time. And in psychology it usually leads to unhappiness and anger: that's precisely how it works with shotguns: people are somehow able to believe that they are cheap because they're clearly so powerful and easy to use and yet they know that they personally do really badly when they try and use them. That's why they get so angry because they are in mental turmoil through holding two incompatible views simultaneously!
