Bros,
I thought that players with Ninja Pro / Dead Silence (I'm speaking about MW2 and MW3) are not able to be heard (sorry for bad English if it's so), but sometimes I think, that I do hear them (I am a soundwhore myself), but this sound is SO quiet, that it seems it's a luck to detect it.
However, when I ask somebody to help in testing the sound of footsteps, it seams that footsteps, even if you are right in front of the player with these perks, are VERY quiet, and even the environment sound is much louder.
Sometimes, however, I hear "unheard" steps (for example, on Invasion and Mission in MW2 and MW3, respectively). Or it's just an intuition?..
I just want to know, can be their (players with Ninja Pro and Dead Silence) footsteps detected, or it's just my retarded imagination? Yes-yes, I know about x0.25 multiplier for their footsteps, but I don't trust it, cause even SitRep Pro doesn't make it something like louder.
Yes, I know about hotfix for Xbox, that finally fixed SitRep pro (looking forward to the fix comes on PC, but I know, I should wait for 1-2 months), but, please, don't count it, cause there's no fix on PC.
I am your clown, bro.
P.S.: I've searched for an identical thread, but haven't found something special. Sorry, if it's not so and there is such a thead already. And, ofc, sorry for the bad English.

Yes, it's possible to hear them, especially when they walk on metal. But it's so quiet you can't hear them when someone is shooting.

You're my clown? O.O
I feel the same way about not being able to hear people on some maps even in extremely close range. Even with sitrep. But I've never been able to hear people with dead silence -.-
I have px5, with a downloaded mw3 footstep amplifier mode.

Dead Silence does not completely silence your movement: you can test this yourself by running around in private match with DS on. It is however so silent that the probability of you soundwhoring a ninja in an actual game is minuscule.
Sit Rep and Ninja were supposed to cancel in MW2, but did not entirely (SRP does cancel Ninja, but only to a very limited extent) due to a bug. That same bug is in MW3. Is it true that the LMG patch fixed this?

I heard someone with DS once b4 w/ SitRep Pro, however I mistook his footsteps for ambient noise and got shanked in the back. Can someone test SitRep VS DS again now after the patch?

It is however so silent that the probability of you soundwhoring a ninja in an actual game is minuscule. Sure, I know it. Ninja/DS is my favorite tier 3 perk. But I just can't understand, why can't I hear someone with DS/Ninja, but can hear myself while moving. Do you actually think SitRep has any effect on Ninja's/DS's footsteps? I use this perk a lot, too (in MW3 and MW2), but, however, it hasn't helped me yet at all for detecting DS players. Even with great headsets, that's broken now. I read about fix somewhere here, don't remember where.
Yeah, sure! Yeah, it's a law for the MW3, that sometimes you're not able to here somebody without DS, even if you have SitRep Pro and the enemy is right behind/in front of you. But for DS — no, as I've mentioned, I've heard one on the Mission, even though he was in 5-7 meters to the right/left.
However, every user of Ninja Pro/DS should remember, that jumping is much more louder, and it can be actually heard by others. And, ofc, changing mag / raising a gun is the best sound for soundwhore that helps to detect anyone with DS/Ninja Pro.

Do you actually think SitRep has any effect on Ninja's/DS's footsteps? Although extremely subtle, you can definitely hear the ninja without SRP and it does definitely become louder with it.
