Okay. I just watched the film. I was expecting to see some great secret to the aa12 or something. The people you were playing against seemed completely oblivious to your presence in that building. They never looked to the side of the doors when they walked in there. I guess you just got a bad enemy team. gosh darn golly gee whiz.

I disagree. If you have ever used a sniper rifle with a lag of ~100ms you can still do fairly well. Sure, some shots which should have hit will not but most shots still hit their target. This shotgun would be similar to a sniper rifle with spread. Yes, you might miss a few kills if you have high lag but you can still manage.
I absolutely understand your idea that shotguns are their anti-lag weapon. A few weeks ago, I had a ping of 200-300ms which is simply ridiculous. I was using the USAS, steady aim, and range and was able to have a K:D of about 1 in most games. Lag is never this extreme though. The only reason it was that bad for me was that I was on an island in Maine with my xbox hooked up to stolen WiFi from down the street.
Lag makes any weapon worse, especially the more accurate ones. This is a constant and cannot be avoided. obviously weapon design should be tailored to accommodate for this fact but it should not bar an entirely valid option. The plain and simple thing to do when facing extreme lag is don't use this gun. Otherwise it is fine. |
|
Like I said this would be fine to put on one pump but not all of them. This gun would suffer alot due to lag, far more than even current pump actions.

That seems to be the overall secret to doing good in CoD with any gun: Get doo-doo teammates, pwn them. Repeat until time runs out or until you get a MOAB. AA12 does make it about 50 times harder.

@brick
Oh! I misread/misunderstood and thought you wanted to put this on all shotguns or none of them. My mistake.

I got a moab with the AA12 once and have it saved in my fault, but that was pre-patch emags + damage.
Thank you IW for messing it up.

I got a 39-5 with an AA-12 on Bakaara. Unfortunately no proof it was an AA-12, but here's a pic from Elite.

I'm really curious about how you managed to do that. Did the opposing team have both or just one thumb amputated?

The devs keep saying they're listening to our opinions on shotguns, but I don't believe them. If they listened to us, then they wouldn't keep silencing us and having our posts deleted. They think they can do it right "their own way", which is unlikely going to work. They started weapon balancing nearly a week ago, yet they haven't even started asking suggestions. I don't have ANY high hopes of a shotgun buff or any weapon they try to "balance."

This.
I was kind of surprised at how much Foxhound shapes and deletes posts. He's deleted numerous posts of mine, despite them being perfectly valid and constructive. I linked the video where I put the W1200 with MW3 stats to show shotguns are not really affected by lag. He deleted for some odd reason.

I haven't heard one developer give an objective response to shotguns at all. All I hear from them is "shotguns are fine, blabber blah blub".

...I'm so fucking tempted to just cuss GHANDI out right now. If they were actually listening to us, then we wouldn't keep fucking bitching about it. They would have buffed them a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooongggg time ago.
I'm only censor dodging just because I want to convey the fact that I am serious.

Until that time we are monitoring and listening to the discussion. |

This worries me.
This could be a sign that shotguns will be untouched after the weapon balance pass is completed.
To be honest, I wished they kept the Extended Mags glitch on the shotguns.

I personally fund the spas pretty fucking usable. It's not as good as it should be, but people here definitely exaggerate how bad it is.

Its useable in the sense that the m16 is useable when the type 95 exists. There are massively more effective options.

The difference between in effectiveness of the spas and smgs is large. My m16 is at like a 1.8 and I don't have the good setup for it yet so it will probably get higher. My type 95 is at 2.5 k/d. So there is a .7 k/d differnce between mine.
My spas is at a 2.47 k/d, my p90 is at a 3.57. That is a 1.1 k/d difference. What I said is true for me at least.

yeah, but shotguns in general are more specialized weapons than SMGs, and are more screwed over by lag.

There are several reasons why shotguns are so bad compared to other weapons, but that does not take away from the fact that they are bad compared to the other weapons.

Shotguns also have the disadvantage of not being able to kill a head glicther. They have no headshot multipliers and you can only get 1 or 2 pellets on to him. Also I always seem to get a hitmarker when I shoot someone who is prone while using a shotgun.
