Two different recoil groupings in "_Firing" .dbx's
« Thread Started on Mar 22, 2010, 6:23pm »

One of the groupings I'm referring to is the one further up in the file which has values for minimum and maximum recoil angles on different axes. The other is the one which has an entry for every combination of stance and ADS that you refer to for your kick and amp values, Den. My question is, what exactly do these two separately control about gun recoil? Is one for the actual movement of the screen, and one for the appearance of the gun viewmodel's recoil? Or are the two groupings interconnected somehow?

I note that you've pointed out in another thread that the XM8C is the only gun with X and Y values (I would have posted this there, but I wanted to specifically address the separate functions of the two recoil groupings). However, I know for a fact other automatic weapons have lateral recoil, in that they cause the screen to kick left and right pretty noticeably if you go full-auto with them long enough. This makes me suspect it is a matter of the first grouping referring to the movement of the gun viewmodel, and the second referring to the movement of the screen, but I'm not certain. What do you conclude, Den?
