Hello! I come here on a mission from the Battlefield wiki in search of some information.
Does using magnum ammo cause vapor trails, or is the vapor trail a result of something else?
Some people I've asked, such as from IGN and GameFaqs, do not know the cause of the vapor trails. So, I need to know. Does magnum make the vapor trail?

Nope, Magnum is just a damage change.
The "tracers/fx_tracer_sniper_smoketrail" is an Additional Trail Effect on sniper rifles (excluding the VSS and SVU) that appears after the projectile travels at least 30m.

Do the shotguns with slug have the trail as well?

i'm 99% sure that it is exclusive to the sniper rifles.

I don't know about the shotty with slugs, but I do know some of the assault rifles have vapor trails.

Not calling you out Klok, I would just have to see proof on that. I feel like I've only seen vapor trails w/ snipers, and maybe the HMG (but that could just be the tracer effect... Maybe that's what you're seeing with ARs?).
Again, not trying to be rude or anything man, actually quite curious if that's something that others have seen?
