I started to use the A-91 today and wasnt overly sure with it certainly the iron sights on it. So was just wondering what you bro's feel the most comfortable with using. Or if anyone has any tips on using the A-91
cheers bros

well alot of people claim the scar is Ovp but I feel with the smaller mag size and large recoil its not really ovp
other than that though all of the eng guns are pretty nice none that I dislike once you get sights for them anyway

Sig 553 so far suits me well, little recoil, nice fire modes, clear ironsights. I can't complain about AKs-74u too. Just don't like those spray guns.

scar-h pretty much makes every other gun reduntant. the devs must have sniffed leadpaint the day they thought that thing was a good idea. very managable recoil couppled with huge damage and excellent accuracy. the small magazine doesn't really help to balance it either, since the firerate is not that high, and reload is very very quick.
my tip: whore it before the patch comes and it gets balanced.

M4A1/A-91 have the fastest fire rate and are most devastating up close. SG553/G36C are slightly slower, and work well at all ranges. AKS-74u is slower still and is probably the most average of the Carbines. The SCAR is the slowest, but outdamages the rest at every range. The only real downside it has is poor spray/hipfire effectiveness.
Aside from the SCAR (which will be nerfed sometime in the near future), the Carbines aren't that much different. Pick the one you think looks/sounds the best and roll with it.

The 20 clip size in SCAR-H is not a problem at all. Fire rate 600/min and 20 rounds compared to 900/min with 30 rounds equals the same time of sustained fire time. Additionally, 20 bullets with 34 damage each equals potentially to 680 damage or almous 7 kills. All other SMGs have 30 bullets with 25 damage = 750 or over 7 kills potential. All from 1 reload - if you are that good and efficient.
You are my bro, bro.

Cheers bros, well i think i will give the A-91 a go and see how i get on with it. if not back to the trusty m4a1 and aks-74u as at the moment i seem to do the best with these two guns shame you can only use m4a1 on US and 74u on Rus :/ oh well life goes on haha

What are peoples thoughts on the G36c? Is it like a cross between the SG553 and the M4?

I've only picked it up a few times and from what i have seen i quite like it seems pretty balanced to use decent damage rating, easyish recoil to control and it is pretty good at all the distances you will use it at.

I have at least 100 kills with each engineer gun, and I tend to use the A-91 the most recently. However, it is mostly down to personal preference / play style. For example, statistically, the AKS-74u is probably the least potent carbine, but even it can hold its own with the correct play style. I tend to play aggressively and flank a lot, and the high fire rate on the A-91 helps me win a lot of fire fights when I get surprised around a corner on one of my flank routes.

Good advice. I have ~500 kills with most of the carbines and it's really just personal preference most of the time.

The A-91 is my pic every time. The SCAR is powerful, but I shoot the A-91 so much better that it doesn't matter. You'll like it a lot more once you get a red dot on it.

A-91 has least spread according to my own testings so thats my pick right after scar. Been using PDW-R now and it ain't bad either. Its for all classes tho.

Technically the A-91 has the fastest time to kill of the carbines, so for me, if the recoil and spread is lower than the SCAR, it sounds like a winner. It's ugly as hell though. I'm looking forward to the G36C as well, I think I tend to perform best with middle-of-the-road damage and ROF plus low recoil.

I really like the M4A1, but I really like all the engineer weapons. Though I can't use the scar for some reason though it is a force in someone's hands who can control the recoil.

As someone who hates carbines, the M4A1 is my choice after some playtime with all of the carbines. I think it's because to me it feels the most like a full size AR and feels more solid than any of the other carbines. EDIT: After looking at the chart I see why, less recoil than the G36 and a 50RPM higher fire rate seem to make it more accurate, for me at least. P.S. G36 was what I was using before I got my engi service star.

After having a good play with all the guns I must admit that I feel the most comfortable with the M4A1 and with that gun I seem to get my most consistent and highest scoring rounds using this gun. But hey im gonna go back to my normal playing and pull out my trusty snip-er rifle.

M4A1, the A-91 and the M4A1 are basically the same gun in almost all respects, the A-91 does kick less, but the bullets are a whole 160m/s slower than the M4 bullets, so you'll have better luck hitting stuff long range with the M4.
