 PP-19 and P-90
« Thread Started on Dec 17, 2011, 6:08pm »

I noticed that Den and Symthic's charts have different damage values for the PP-19 and P-90. Which is the correct chart? I usually take whatever Den puts up as truth, but I haven't been able to test for myself.

I haven't updated everything on the chart from the latest patch. Symthic's is probably up to date.

The P-90's 5.7x28mm is up to 20-10 damage.

...But wait. His says the PP-19 does 16.7 - 9.1? Where's that from? I don't see that.

Symthic had damage listed as 25-10 before too, but it was changed after some guy on his board mentioned it.
Without having a clue how the files are organized; did you look at 9x19mm round the PP2000 uses? Because the PP-19 is listed as using the 9x18 makarov round; maybe there's a different file for that one?

The PP-19 reads as having a 9x19. Even though there is a 9x18 Makarov projectile, I don't see anything that uses that WeaponClass.

Then maybe the easiest way is to just test it in-game. I would, but kinda busy right now..

While we're on the subject of differences between Den and Symthic's charts, I notice that Den's chart lists the G36C as having equalized recoil values (0.3 left/0.3 right/0.3 vertical). However. Symthic's chart shows uneven recoil values (0.5 left/0.3 right/0.3 vertical). Does anyone know which of these are true?

so, is there any news about the truth behind the PP-19? 9.1 - 16.7, or 10-25?

I did a quick test about that a few weeks ago in-game the PP-19 did do ~9 damage at range (I don't remember the exact value but it was less than 10 and thus less than the P90, which was all I was testing).

So then we can all agree that the PP-19 pretty much sucks in the face of the P90. Too bad, thing looks pretty awesome (like most russian weapons in this game)

It is pretty great if you're going for suppression assists. The huge wall of weak bullets means if you run with teammates you should see the +50s popping up like crazy.

I always liked the PP-19 in BF2, so I'd probably just use it regardless of its actual quality.

Does it still have a firing sound as cool as it did in BF2?

Wow, the pp-19 was straight up terrible in BF2, along with the MP5 and type 85. The P90 was slightly less lame, but everyone used the DAO-12, since the smgs were only effective to about 10m anyways.

Well, I said I liked it, I didn't say it was any good. (Hence, "use it regardless of quality.")

Yeah I wasn't knocking on you.
It was the best default anti tank gun, although I found the gun sounds from BF2 lacking in general...
Only reason to play anti tank was the Eryx and sraw, doo-dooty as they were.
