im considering to get bf3, havent read much bout balancing and hitdetection, recoil mechanix etc. and these things.. so is there any general balance, like class vs other class or gun vs vehicle etc.? or balance in a certain weapon class do weapons feel unique?
is dice listening to the right guys or not? did they do any big mistakes yet? so basically i need just a yes or no to get the game or not, i must say im very picky right now, sick of noob games noobs and everything lol.. tried go to cod2 again but nadespam and rifle jump one shot frag gal0re is killing it, others like true combat elite insurgency blabla all tested out nothing seems to stick
also there seems to be some nice source mods like resistance n liberation or occupation but thats nothing to pick up a fast game and well..betas...

yes or no...it's not as clear cut as that unfortunately. it depends on what you expect.
if you think you can jump in, zip into a room and hose down six fools in just as many seconds call of duty style, this is not your game. if you are looking for something a bit more tactical for you and your buddies to play and win by supporting each other and working together, you might like it.
recoil mechanics are pretty awesome and rather realistic. the way it works it does a nice job in my oppinion enforcing the tactical aspect of the game. bullets do not hit pinpoint accurate at your point of aim unless you are shooting single shots or short bursts standing still and taking good aim. there is a supression mechanic where near-miss bullets don't drain your health but make your vision go blurry and mess up your aim. dice seems to listen to the right guys and improve what needs fixing, judging from what we know on the upcoming patch. very little complete retardation in there (looking at IW and treyarch and mw and black ops weapon balancing). not all guns are perfect and unique yet (a few are basicly weaker, retarded copies of others right now) but it's moving in the right direction where every gun gets it's unique feel.
that beeing said, if you are easily enraged: the bulldoo-doo factor in some rounds is pretty high. copious ammounts of useles snipers padding their petty K/D, losing their team the game allthewhile, occasional rocket and grenade spam and more stuff like that can be pretty infuriating. however, there is a counter to everything and if you keep cool and flank you can get out of almost anything.

grrrr...czech i see, nice anyways, speaking of snipers and teamplay, are there enough simple TDM servers or something to get into the game and the mechanix?
and yes im done with cod.. they got me with all this map design and balance marketing.. maps are ok in my book but all this akimbos.. not that i cant handle them, it just gets booring very quickly.. so yes i need some more realistic game now my only bigger kind of MP game was joint ops, so maybe its time to move to bigger battlefields again

there is tdm, yes, but..really, it's not rocket science. you start out with not much unlocked exept your primary weapon, your secondary weapon and the basic tool of your class (ammo box for support, health kit for assault, repair tool for pioneer and...i dunno...ah yes! portable spawn point for recon), all very self explainatory. just join a squad, stick with them, do what they do, and it will be fine. you will unlock more fancy stuff later piece by piece, so you can always check out what a new game element you just unlocked does. you really don't need to demean yourself with TDM to figure stuff out.

haha no, no akimbo of any kind. bf3 goes in a more serious, a bit more realistic-ish direction, akimbo weapons would feel out of place. postols do their job, but in no way overpowered. g18 is a bit iffy at times, but it's getting a slight nerf in the patch..

yes, more willing acolytes for the bf3 gods. *insert insane evil chuckle here*
for dlc's. i'm no huge fan either, the one that came so far was basicly free, so, whatever. as for future ones..will have a look, let's hope they are worth whatever they are charging for them

the guns of the physical warfare thingie were just early unlocks, they are accessible for everyone. just not unlocked from the start. so don't worry about the different verisons anymore. as far as i know the limited edition with b2k included is still avaiable. here it's about 40 euros for the physical copy and about 20 for a key.
Re: Upcoming patch changes, v.2 « Reply #43 on Mar 12, 2012, 3:05pm »
its available but will it work with b2k? i mean it cud be the case that this only worked pre release as a preorder bonus or something, just to make sure..:p
and how do these keys work for origin? any danger or something? no issues with steam for me with keys

You could argue there's a lot of stuff wrong with the game (voip issues, some hit detection issues thanks to it mostly being client side, some core BF features being left out like commanders (i don't miss it tbh)) but the guy who's in charge of gameplay isn't a complete monkey like the ones they have @ IW.
the main problem of BF3 is that the patch that will make nearly everything better is taking such a gosh darn golly gee whiz long time with no indication when they're gonna release it other than "spring" and spring is a freaking long time. Community has been pretty pissed about the non excisting stream of info
hopefully, date gets announced this week and it'll hit the end of this month. Worst case scenario, it hits late april

Anything is better than Robert Trolling.
But in Battlefield, (on console anyway), it's a Foxtrotting nightmare to play on a team with your friends. They have a function to squad up before joining a game, but that means squash once you join a game. It always splits you up on opposing teams to keep them "balanced". Why it doesn't just use a system like COD (balance in the LOBBY before the game) is beyond me. Nobody can join or leave during the lobby intermission. Only once the map loads.

i forgot to ask yesterday, what about the jumping? to avoid shots or jump around corners, is jump speed n height good as it is? comming from cod2 the last days and thats another thing important for me, those jumping hipfire rifle one shot frags got me mad lol

Jumping is pretty fast and pretty high, but you get mega inaccurate even if you aim while you're doing it. Plus, if you keep on jumping while sprinting you'll actually slow down till you stop after a few jumps (bunny hopping used to be a problem in the older bf games)
so no, you don't see alot of jumping in actual fights
PATCH INFO
Kevin Cuesta @kcuestag @zh1nt0 Would you be so kind to tell me if the PC patch is already going through certification?
Daniel Matros @zh1nt0 @kcuestag Itīs in testing right now still
Now, if they aren't complete scumbags and delay the pc patch so it releases alongside consoles we may see the patch next week or in 2 weeks

Aren't consoles still on the weak-ass MP7/P90 patch? If so, I wouldn't worry about it. But eh, this is DICE we're talking about; bad things and nonsensicalness is always possible.
Re: Upcoming patch changes, v.2 « Reply #51 on Mar 13, 2012, 2:38pm »
On the other hand, they're actually making an effort to improve their game balance instead of just throwing more maps and some OP guns at us. They're taking their time with it, sure, but just remember what that patch looked like the first time they announced it.

Yeah, that's true. Demize is one of the few really good gameplay people at DICE; he knows all the numbers since he pretty much made all those numbers himself and he's the only open line the community has with the dev (ironically, I think demize is more of a community manager than zh1nt0 will ever be; demize might want to get dubbel payed since he's doing another guy's job)

G18 is sometimes better than primaries. It makes me sad. Besides that, pretty balanced secondaries, (1911 suck so so much though )

sorry for doublepost, but there is news: according to some swedish and a czech pc gaming sites the patch is ready, but will be held back until certification is is complete to be released for all platforms at the same time "to avoid spoilers" (what?)
as usual the grandeur of the glorious pc gaming master race is held back by the dirty console peasantry.
Re: Upcoming patch changes, v.2 « Reply #59 on Mar 15, 2012, 5:27pm »
DICE truely does not get it.
Instead of rejecting the overly complicated process of console patching like all developers should do (it's a common suggestion now that consoles need to adjust their patching processes to allow faster and more efficient patching; hell, TF2 never got anything on consoles because MS and Sony wanted to see money money money).
Instead of that, they actually raddle the independent platforms with delays that don't even excist for them. Good thinking DICE, people really want everything to be perfectly equally doo-dooty.
