New deathstreak to replace all the others « Thread Started on Apr 27, 2012, 12:16am »
I and everyone else hates the deathstreaks we have now. I realize that noobs and unlucky people deserve some help occasionally, but final stand, DMH, and myrtyrdom are annoying. I think we should get rid of all the current deathstreaks and replace it with a point to your killstreak after say 4 deaths in a row. This isn't cheap and for the higher killstreaks it is not very effective, especially for someone doing badly at that moment. Uav spam with this won't be possible because getting the kills to earn the uav stops the cycle. If this is done though flag caps, destroying killstreaks and other non killing ways to gain points needs to end the deathstreak to prevent uav spam. Support in itself is a deathstreak so it won't apply with it.
Is this fair to bad players while eliminating bulldoo-doo deaths to good players?
For a noob that can't get kills at all and keep dying, he will be able to run fast, have extra health, and shoot more "hurtful" bullets for 10 seconds at each spawn until he can get a kill

Painkiller is already too powerful. Juiced if fine and hollow points only last one kill so its also not that bad. I don't want to see someone charge my through two snipes.

About this: My opinion is - if not get rid of them completely so make them harmless, like: Juiced - no changes Personal UAV - 4-6 deaths get you UAV that activates automatically on your spawn, but it works only for you Revenge - mostly no changes, but you see enemy on radar, not like "A, B, C" points from Domination Hollow points - no changes. These things are mostly useless for people, who don't die too often and not annoying like hell as Dead Man's Hand, Martyrdom, Final Stand and Painkiller from MW2. BTW, my opinion: just get rid of them. If you suck - it's your problem.

If you suck it's your problem.
That's the answer right there.
When I picked up COD2 and played for the first time I was a noob, I got owned, I still enjoyed the game and being bad was my motivation for getting better, no one handed anyone any handicaps.

1 death: "Oh well." 2 deaths: "What a prick." 3 deaths: "Cheap ass camper!" 4 deaths: "He's using such a noob gun!" 5 deaths: "Foxtrotting lag compensation!" 6 deaths: "I'm writing an angry letter to tell how angry I am!"
Not exactly positive, yet something I'd rather have in place of Deathstreaks.

You get a Death Streak after 4 consecutive deaths: Level 1-20: Juggernaut, Stopping Power, Lightweight Level 21-40: Stopping Power, Lightweight Level 41-60: Lightweight
After that, no more death streaks. Obviously this doesn't reset when you prestige. I always thought the whole idea of death streaks is to help NEW players by giving them enough of an advantage that they keep playing the game and eventually learn the intricacies of map layout, class construction, and general FPS skills. Players who have already played for a considerable period of time should not need these crutches and should not have access to them.
Or how about you remove this crutch and solve the actual problems?
Giving a drunk cocaine isn't going to solve his addiction, and it's gonna only make things worse for him.
Fix the spawns with maps that actually have room to breathe on, balance all the guns, balance the perks, and suddenly we don;t need them.
Get real. Bad players will always find a way to play bad....regardless of how big the maps are, or balanced the guns are. Come on...seriously, the gun balancing issues aren't THAT big of a deal. Like if we tweak some bullet damage by 1.2%, suddenly the game is going to be the greatest thing in the world.
As far as new death streaks....get rid of 'dead man's hand'....and replace it with 'Gay man's hand'. After a person dies six straight times....he loses all his guns, becomes invunerable to all damage though, is given a free pass to go kill only one other opponent, ...and when he finds that opponent, he gets to ram his fist up his azz, with nice, over the top animations.

Didn't say that would solve bad players, but it sure solves the root problems of why we even have Deathstreaks instead of just adding these POS to the game.
*Increases damage output of all weapons by 35% for 10 seconds after respawn or until the player's first kill, whichever comes first **Decreases damage received by all weapons by 25% for 10 seconds after respawn or until the player's first kill, whichever comes first.
But like I said, I can live with these -- like most, I'd ultimately prefer that deathstreaks not be in the CoD series at all.

So much whining over something that only comes up when you're completely dominating the other team. Sometimes you're going to be killed by a player of lesser skill. Get over it.

Agree, but gay-man's hand is pretty ridiculous. If you die so many times in a row, you get a free high explosive to kill anyone near you. Kind of absurd, on every level.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo DDDDDDDDD:
Here: 3 Deaths: Copy Cat 4 Deaths: Martyrdom, BlindEye for 10 seconds(To prevent spawn killing from Air Support), Juiced (Only a X1.1 speed boost) 5 Deaths: Hollow Points, Revenge, Painkiller (Incoming DMG X.75) 6 Deaths: The game automatically kicks you

IMO, the idea of Deathstreaks is fine, but they mustn't significantly influence the outcome or flow of games and so in order to mitigate their impact I'd suggest that their requirements be addressed... (1) there should not be a perk (Hardline Pro) that reduces their death requirements and (2) the more lethal the deathstreak, the greater streak of deaths required (MW2's Painkiller & MW3's Final Stand are serious culprits of this).
Copycat Option to copy the load-out of the person who killed you (2 deaths)
Juiced Gives a 25% speed boost to the player when re-spawned, lasts for 8 seconds (3 deaths)
Revenge Provides an osculating indicator above the head of the enemy that killed the player after he/she re-spawns. It can been seen through walls and everything, but it will disappear after the player earns a kill or simply after 16 seconds (4 deaths)
Martyrdom Drop a live Frag grenade upon death (5 deaths)
Last Stand Before dying a player will drop to the ground where they make their last stand before bleeding out. This will cause the player to pull out their secondary Pistol or a default Pistol if they were using a secondary weapon other than a handgun. If the player was dual wielding Pistols then they'd only draw out one of the pair. There will be NO revival possibilities with this streak and bleed out occurs fairly quickly (10 seconds). The 'Jump' button becomes a suicide button in case the player wants to get back into the match's action even sooner (5 deaths)
Hollow Points On re-spawn a player is provided a boost to their ballistic damage (1.4x), but the boost will end after a kill is earned (6 deaths)
Kamikaze Unveils a hidden vest full of C4 thats strapped to the player's body which is rigged to explode (7 deaths)
Second Chance Before dying a player will drop to the ground where they make a final stand. The player will have access to all of their weapons and a revival indicator will appear to teammates signifying that they can come revive the downed player before they fully bleeding out (20 seconds). The 'Jump' button becomes a suicide button for the player in case they want to get back into the match's action even sooner (7 deaths)
Das Boot An automatic Deathstreak that all players have and is only enabled for team based games. It will basically boot the player from the game back to their own lobby. A couple reasons why this automatic boot Deathstreak is reasonable... (1) It can be viewed as another method of preventing player boosting, and (2) removing an extremely bad player from a game can make the difference between a team losing and a team winning (15 deaths)

Das Boot should be in ffa as well. It might not be a team game, but boosting takes away a victory from someone who earned it. I can just barely keep up with a boosters rate of kills. As soon as he gets the moab I'm only on 25 though.

Yeah, I just think that a different form of protection is needed in FFA games. I think that the game should analyze the kills that are occurring in matches and if the data suggests that someone is boosting then it should red flag their account... with repeated offenses it will eventually BANHAMMER them.
