How does reload canceling work? I know it is when you (Y)(Y) or (▲)(▲). But what determines how long it takes before the gun is ready to be shot again? If you reload cancel immediately after the Add Time is finished, does it take the full Drop Time and Raise Time of the weapon you reload canceled? Or does it just take a portion of the time? And does it matter what secondary weapon you are holding (Launchers as apposed to a pistol)?
I am trying to determine if it it worth reload canceling a Kiparis (with and without SoH) and a LAW as my secondary weapon.

I always reload cancel except when using an AR with SoH and dual mags (in which case reload time is roughly .5 seconds) the secondary you have equiped does not matter as long as you don't finish the full drop time of the weapon your reloading, depending on how fast you double tap Y or triangle you should be able to fire your first shot less than .25 of a second after the full add time. So unless your reload time is less than about .8 second (dual mags +SoH) the reload cancel with help you, one other thing is that once you get good enough at reload cancelling you can actually make your draw times on most weapons (excpet pistols and weapons with Scout pro) much faster, you jsut have ot get a feel for it but after practice i'm able to draw my L96 without Scout pro in about .5 second give or take.

After the add time is over you can start a reload cancel. If you hit your second Y before your reloading gun is dropped there seems to be no time restriction AKA it is instantaneous. If the reloading gun is dropped you have to wait for the raise time of that gun. Of course you can also sprint out of it too, which is even more useful in some situations.

Ya i forgot about that, if your on the move sprinting out of your reload can be much faster, really you jsut gotta get a feel for it to figure which is best when and to optimize your use of it.

Play a lot of Zombies, you'll get good at sprint canceling.

^^ that is why the HK21 is useable in zombies, because you can cut the reload much shorter.
