Fun thing: The worst possible MW3 class
« Thread Started on Jun 24, 2012, 1:27pm »

Hey ^^

I've done something with my Create-a-Class, which is probably the worst class you can ever play with in Modern Warfare 3. If there can't be a "best possible class" as it strongly depends on player preferences and skills (even if some combos are ultra-efficient), I'm pretty sure that particular class can't be beaten in terms of mediocrity. Getting a >1 KDR is nearly impossible with it and don't even think, even in your dreams, about getting a MOAB in a public match.

Here's that class:

Weapon: Riot Shield (no Proficiency)
Of course it protects you from bullets. However you can kill only up close and you need two melee hits to kill someone most of the times.

Secondary: Stinger
Even if it excels to clear out the skies, it can't kill ground units, and you are very vulnerable by using it.

Lethal: Throwing Knife
This is the only non-explosive Lethal. Therefore you need to be precise and you can have only one. And by the way, if you "aim" with it, the Riot Shield on your back disappears during that time.

Tactical: Jammer
Seriously. Nobody in the game uses the Jammer. Assassin by itself already hides you from the radar. The Recon Drone have a built-in Jammer. Every other equipment gives a better advantage.

Perk 1: Recon (Pro)
Using the melee attack doesn't tag enemies on the radar (needs to be checked), your Stinger can't hit ground units, your Throwing Knife kills instantly, and your Jammer isn't useful. And every other Tier 1 perk awards an advantage: Sleight of Hand, even if it isn't very useful with the current loadout, can make the Stinger reload faster and the pro version makes weapon swapping faster. Extreme Conditioning makes you run for a longer time which is useful with the Riot Shield. Scavenger refills your Throwing Knives. And Blind Eye makes you invisible to every air support. And by the way, Recon is totally useless in HC mode. But if Recon shows enemies after a hit with the Riot Shield, then Sleight of Hand would be the worst choice.

Perk 2: Hardline (Pro)
This class disable killstreaks. Therefore, Hardline is useless and doesn't give any bonus (except from getting the deathstreak quicker, but the deathstreak is already not that useful).

Perk 3: Steady Aim (Pro)
Marksman still helps you to see enemies from far away. Dead Silence makes you stealth. Sitrep gives you the ability to see enemy equipment through walls. And finally Stalker makes your moves easier with the Stinger, and saves you from equipment in Pro. Steady Aim was the only useless choice here as you can't fire from the hip neither with the Riot Shield or the Stinger.

Killstreaks: None
Just disable them all. So Hardline becomes useless, and Stinger "kills" doesn't rise your pointstreak further.

Deathstreak: Hollow Points
Hollow Points doesn't work with melee attacks (needs to be checked however) and you don't fire a single bullet. Even Revenge gives you the position of your killer giving you a chance to retaliate. All other deathstreaks are lethal (even Final Stand where you can melee with your Riot Shield).

I challenge anyone to find even worse than that, and trying to get a >1 KDR with it in a single match.

Change recon to scavenger, change t-knife to bouncing betty (These don't get kill even when used properly). Change SA to marksman, since marksman only works with ADS, and SA Pro lifts the shield up faster.

Your class has some synergy; Jammer + Stinger work well together since you can't be shot by killstreaks while in a jammer field.

Bouncing Betties are pretty good in Drop Zone. :)

Come to think of it, your class would be halfway decent in Drop Zone.

Well why not replacing Jammer by TacInsert then? :) However it can be both an advantage and a disadvantage for the player.

I still prefer taking the Throwing Knife as you need to be precise. Bouncing Betty : put it somewhere, and wait until someone gets owned. Even if I admit that the Betty isn't really good to kill and the average lifespan with this class is dangerously close to ten seconds.

yeah, but t-knife is one of the main ways to get kills with a riot class, now that scavenger doesn't fill grenades

Riot shield isn't the worst weapon. Replace it with a silenced AA-12, it has the same range and doesn't protect your feet when you crouch.

Silenced holographic aa12 sounds worse. Doesn't it slow down your ads speed? Now you can't even reduce your spread fast.

I wish Breath could be used on the AA-12; THAT'D speak volumes by itself.

Then again, the proficiency is useless as is so...

Just like there is no best class, there isn't a worst one either. Depending on the skill of both you (whether or not you use them is a different story) and your enemies, your mentioned class can be equally effective as ineffective.

Besides that, there are way more dependencies, such as gametype (as jackaltornmoons said, your class would actually be somewhat useful in Drop Zone), current in-game situation, and the loadout of the other players.

'Best' and 'worst' need a more specific definition in order to use them to judge the effectiveness of classes. In my point of view, your class ranks quite low indeed on the amount of kills you could make with it, if that is what 'worst' means. But on the other hand, with that class you would actually be quite a nice team member - and maybe even the only one - who takes care of all the enemy air support or function as a distraction with your shield, assuming your team is then skilled and smart enough to do the tasks that you can't.

...or a single teammate could run a good class with a stinger? Unless he is to guard his full speed teammates with a 80% shield. Obviously it would be advantageous to have teammates who aren't social
