Bros, what do you think of
1) Frag vs. Semtex 2) Betty vs. Claymore
For 1): it seems to me that Frag is more powerful that Semtex (or it could just be that I suck less with Frag than Semtex :-) ), maybe it has a bigger blast radius?

1) I always prefer Semtex to Frags which seem to be worse than they were in BO1 (which is opposite to your experience, though honestly I have barely used grenades)
2) Betties 100%. They are AMAZING. Scavenger + Betties + Shock Charges add SO MUCH versatility to a class. You are able to CONSISTENTLY cover multiple routes into objectives/lanes this way. Covering the first Hardpoint on Plaza (the Hardpoint in the club area) is so hilariously easy with this setup. Toss a Charge + Betty into the hall opposite of your spawn hall, toss a charge into that center hall (the one leading to the B flag on Dom) and you can totally lock down that area alone. I know you and iw5000 play in a clan and I definitely think a few people running Charges + Scav + Betties instead of TIs would help you hold/capture points while the rest of your team suicide bombs objectives with TIs.

In MW3 I definitely prefer Semtex over Frag. They have the same power but Semtex is much easier to use.
However, if Frag is more powerful in BO2 then I will consider using it. Once I can get the cool time figured out, I should be able to get more kills due to less response time for enemies to dodge them after seeing the grenade indicator.

The frag is more powerful than the semtex, there's no doubt about it. I think Black Ops did that too, to balance the two grenades.
But personally I find the C4 extremely versatile this time, you can throw it far away (further than in most CoD games, similar to MW3 I think) and make it explode faster than a semtex. The blast radius and damage seems to be about the same as the frag's one. In fact I find it better than the semtex on every aspect (well maybe the semtex is quicker to throw, I don't know).

C4 is great. It is part of the Ghost default loadout and I have been using it to great success. Unfortunately it is a late unlock so it is out of reach for prestigers.

Fuse time was 3.5 seconds in previous COD's, so try cooking for 3 seconds and see if that doesn't work.

Frag vs Semtex: In Black Ops I, Frags and Semtex dealt 200-55 damage and had a ~6.5m radius, but the Frag had a larger lethal radius within that ~6.6m. Black Ops II probably follows this too.
Betty vs Claymore: Not 100% on figures here, but I'm pretty sure this is the basic gist of Betty vs Claymore: - Betty has a 360 degree blast radius, but can be avoided by crouching or proning-out. - Claymore has a ~60 degree blast radius but can't be avoided by crouching or proning-out.

I am now at Prestige 1 level 41 and Betty is no longer scary to me any more. The beeping sound -> crouch respons is now firmly in place, and if I notice Betty spammers on the enemy team I'll pull out of my Engineer class, to turn their favorite toy into tracking beacons :-)

Betties can cover multiple flanks. Claymores not so much.

Betty can also be used as a "poor man's C4". Throw into the vicinity of the enemy while going crouch/prone and hope for the best (which is quite effective against noobish players). Although the range is poor and there is a delay, the advantage over C4 is easier to use because you don't have to follow up with detonation.
