(Note: this is an effort for a collaboration based map guide. All I am doing is to start the thread and include an overhead map with callouts. Hopefully other bros can chime in by posting their insights using the callouts, and organically grow this thread into a useful discussion). Hardpoint locations:

Meltown is another symmetrical map in BO2, with both sides nearly identical. Some other such maps are Express, Plaza and Hijacked.
Aftermath is also sort of symmetric, but not as obvious as others.
Bros, do you prefer symmetric map or asymmetric map? Which one is your most favorite symmetric map?

This map reminds me of Launch from BO1, which is odd because I really liked Launch, but I try to avoid Meltdown. Probalbly I just didn't play it enough to get a feel for it.
I definitly like Express the most out of the symetrical maps. But if the map is good I do not really care if it is symetrical or not.

I like Meltdown. A lot of the focus is always in the middle, so the side routes are good for flanking.
Pillars to B Dom tends to surprise a lot of people. I don't like coming to B Dom from the other side, because that area between #3 and #4 is darker, and there will be someone corner tactical loitering in there.
Seems like people don't realize Tunnel goes through (at least not yet), so running through there can be good for some surprise kills.
If you don't see a teammate in Anka/Control, lob a grenade in the top window. Often rewarded. Also seems like people in those buildings tend to watch the stairs more than the side airduct entrance if you need to flush them out.

Lots of flanking routes make this a fun map to play.
Always gotta watch your back

Since flanking is essential on this map and the flanking routes are pretty long, I found it best to use a strategy I call as "progressive flanking": carry a TI, drop it before moving into an unknown area. Go deep into the area until running into enemies. Engage them until death. Upon respawn, move up the TI further towards enemy territory. Rinse Repeat.
The Turbine flanking route has several inconspicuous locations that can conceal TI pretty well. Sometimes the enemy would kill me, run right past my TI while I respawn, and got knocked out by me from behind. Curse from him about the spawn system can often be heard when this happens :-)

Reminds me of Launch, I would say Launch is better but I like this map. . . probably the only one I like of the default =3.

This map's kind of a bigger version of Plaza; B Flag is easily controlled by control of Pillars with a double horizontal area across it. I find this is one of the highest traffic B Flags in the game, constant action in the center. It's hard to rush cap this flag because of constant snipers in Control and Anka, and it's easily bombed by explosives of all sorts.
As an SMG user, this is a favorable map, though anything goes on this map. Lines of sights are more often than not favorable to an AR user, but the medium size of the map and all the flanking routes (no less than six routes to each side, counting the middle as one and the tunnel beneath it as another!) give mobility a good edge and reason worth using. Pillars is much more friendly to an SMG user than Turbines, but the exit going out to either spawn is extremely risky while Turbines gives two very good entrances. I find myself gravitating towards what would be visualized as an M of the map.

Once Pillars is controlled, one relatively safe cap spot for B is at the entrance from B-Cap to Pillars. This spot is not visible from #3/#4 side, Anka and Control, for the enemies to get you they must take the ramp of the either side and engage you in an CQC duel.
As a result, IMHO Pillars is a must-have location before diving onto B flag. It has the similar strategic importance as the Electros (aka Blue House) on Slums.
