Looking at the scorestreaks, I am a little scared that we will see a lot of them in game. Basically the highest award is at 14 kils, and thats without all other points you can collect on the way (assist, kils with awards, destroying equipment). Also the UAV will add point to your streak, if enemy gets killed during your uav. This makes it even more OP, for such a low streak.
RCC — 325 points — A remote-controlled car packed with explosives. •UAV — 375 points — Shows enemies on the mini-map. •Hunter Killer — 400 points — Airborne drone that seeks out and destroys a nearby target. •Care Package — 450 points — Air drop a random Scorestreak. •Counter-UAV — 475 points — Temporarily disables enemy radar. •Guardian — 500 points — Projects microwave field which stuns and impairs enemies. •Hellstorm Missile — 525 points — An air-to-surface missile which can be scattered into a cluster bomb while falling. •Lightning Strike — 550 points — Launch a coordinated lightning strike on three locations. •Death Machine — 600 points — Your own personal handheld mini-gun. •Sentry Gun — 650 points — An automatic sentry gun which can be remote-controlled. •War Machine — 700 points — Grenade launcher with rapid, semi-automatic firing. •Dragonfire — 725 points — Remote-controlled quad-rotor with lightweight machine gun. •AGR — 800 points — Air drop an autonomous ground robot that searches for and destroys enemies and can be remote controlled. •Stealth Chopper — 850 points — Call in a stealth helicopter which does not appear on the enemy's mini-map. •Orbital VSAT — 900 points — Shows both enemy position and direction on the mini-map, cannot be shot down. •Escort Drone — 1000 points — Get personal air support from an escort drone. •Warthog — 1025 points — Jet aircraft that provides close air support with several strafe runs. •EMP Systems — 1050 points — Temporarily disables enemy electronics. •Lodestar — 1150 points — Lase missile targets remotely from the Lodestar. •VTOL Warship — 1200 points — Be the gunner of a powerful VTOL Warship. •Canine Unit — 1275 points — Attack dogs that hunt down the enemy. •Swarm — 1400 points — Call in a swarm of lethal Hunter Killer drones that search and destroy enemies.

Remember this is not 100% confirmed. Streaks may have different values, and then again you dont know how the spawns, map design and weapons will factor into staying alive. Just give it the benefit of doubt.

The skill-based matchmaking is also an important factor.
In the past, even an average player (e.g.: me ) can get to the high killstreaks if he happens to be matched against a bunch of noobs. In the new world where you are only matched against players in the same "league", this would be much more difficult to achieve.
I am actually more worried about myself not able to ever have any hope of getting to the higher pointstreaks to have fun with them. But wait, there is a feature called "combat training". I am saved

Well, it isn't like UAVs are the only ones with assist benefits. You could likely get way more score from blocking them with CUAVs. Also, the Hellstorm looks ridiculously fun to use and I'm glad to see the Orbital VSAT (Blackbird) plus the Death Machine.

yeh youre both right. Also they might have lowered the pointstreaks for gamescom, in order let gamers see more of them in action.
Personally I woud like to use the dragonfire. Looks fun to use.

Note that kills with the Hellfire only contribute 15pts each to your score. Assists from a UAV probably contribute less than that, and consider that so many players will probably run Ghost by default anyways, many kills will probably not end up even counting as assists.

When it says points does this mean it takes 14 kills in tdm to get the Swarm, but in dom or other objective games it takes 28 (assuming no extra points from other stuff.)? That would be kind of nice.
Wait no not nice. Search gets 500 a kill normally and thats an automatic guardian or lower after only one kill. Hopefully it doesn't work like I think it is.

I think they mentioned that they are differentiating between experience and score. So in all likelihood, you will still get 500xp for each SnD kill, but far less than that towards your scorestreak (I would guess 100-200.)

Thats good although it does shoot down differing amounts of kills per scorestreak per gamemode.

No that is also true. In Hardpoint for example, normal kills are 50 pts and kills near objectives are 125pts. In TDM, kills are 100 points. I'm not sure what the experience amount for those are, they might be the same as the score amounts for those game modes.
However, I am guessing that SnD will be different somehow or you will be getting high killstreaks after 2 or 3 kills, as you suggested. I think they would have to separate score from experience in this scenario, or else you'd level up far too slowly in SnD/earn scorestreaks far too quickly.

Yeah, they most certainly may alter the scoring system in search, or just lower how much exp a person gets :s
I doubt they'd overlook something like that, if they somehow managed to it'd be fixed within the first week.

This score system might offer a better way to make hardline function. In the other games hardline was much more useful with low killstreak loabouts then high ones. The RC-XD for example got a 33% reduction in kills needed while dogs and the gunship got only under a 10% reduction in kills needed. Now they can make hardline effect all killstreaks equally if they give all scorestreaks the same reduction percentage in score needed, like 20% or so.

Gamespot video explicitly states that XP and score are completely divided from each other: this is actually self apparent from the videos.
Kills from killstreaks reward vastly lowered score, for balance reasons, as they feed back into killstreaks. However, it makes no sense for a killstreak kill to reward quarter or even less XP: clearly, the amount of XP the player is earning with these devices is simply not being shown.
Because Hardline rewards a bonus to all point gain now, it should be equally effective for high streaks as it is with low streaks.
Has killstreak cycling been confirmed yet?
Killstreaks appear to be global for all classes: the class selection screens shown do not depict any killstreaks associated with that class.

UAV could be balanced by giving longer delay time or longer "refresh rate" Instead of about every 3 seconds it updates the radar, make it like 5 seconds.

What they should have done is made Ghost a resistance, not an immunity. Example, every X passes reveals a Ghost.
A UAV makes 10 passes. If a Ghost is revealed every 4 passes, a single UAV will reveal a Ghost twice. This also encourages spamming UAVs, something every CoD save MW3 has discouraged, as the additional passes from the UAVs would more readily reveal Ghosts.
One IGN video comments on accolades/medals/whatever you call them as contributing to scorestreak. That is pretty big news if true: a headshot crossmap revenge kill would be worth two or more kills. A tomahawk isn't just cool: it contributes more to your streak.

Should reduce UAV passes to about 6, shows non ghost users every 5 seconds 6 times, and Ghost users every 10 seconds 3 times. More nerfs/downsides to UAV might still be required, but this is one step.

if all gost did was make UAV's effect them less frequently, then not only would UAVs become incredibly popular with NO real counter, ghost would be borderline useless.
Like, that's as if you made slight of hand only work one out of every 5 reloads.

Accolades contributing to scorestreak doesn't appear to be true to me from watching videos, but it's very hard to tell since the new streak bar is not graduated a la MW3.

Well, it does take 11 kills and an assist to get in tdm.

FOr TDM a good low pointstreak setup would be: hunterkiller - hellstorm - dragonfire.
This setup should get you 6 extra kills with ease, for only a 7 killstreak (with current pointlevels)

Are all these streaks active at all times for each player or are we still choosing three per custom class?

It looks like you choose 3, but you can't have separate loadouts per class.

Confirmed to be false.

No. You can only have 1 universal setup across all your loadouts.

Which is a major step backward. Being able to adapt to your opponents is one of the things that makes the game challenging. One of MW3's few good changes to the game was allowing you to change up your killstreaks if they weren't working for you.
Now, it's back to the random dice roll, or sticking to a staple, bland setup.

I've given these devs (IW & 3arc) the benefit of the doubt too many times, and have always been greatly disappointed.
