 Black Ops II Live Feed

http://www.callofduty.com/blackops2/feed

woohoo. Credit to 8-) Lexa_Pro 8-) for the link.

EDIT: I can't watch this with sound right now, so I'm not keeping up with it. Post crap they tell us about and I'll update this post for summary. I'll try and keep it to the stuff we didnt already know, however. Also being diskussed real time on the IRC. /shameless plug So if you see any info here than wasn't posted in this topic, that's why.

Confirmed:
Steady Aim is an attachment (laser sight)
Vonderhaar has a stupid hat
Death Machine is not lost upon death
Snipers have Contrails (smoke trails follow behind the shot)
Snipers have an attachment (Ballistic CPU) to reduce sway
2, 3, and 4 round bursts, select fire at least can swap between auto and burst

Speculation/Observations but not really addressed:
Advanced optics appear to have slower ADS times than irons/reflex sight
Grenades still bounce off teammates like it's nothing
Burst ARs seem to be very common, burst delay is (almost?) nonexistent
Toughness greatly reduces DVK
870 has supercool range

Things that may have been addressed but I can't tell based off the post:
Akimbo machine pistols suck

Wow! Those akimbo machine pistols are absolute doodoo beyond, presumably, point blank ! YES!

Im so happy they made steady aim an attachment now. So much more balanced.

Ballista, Irons + Laser?? I guess that could be huge.

MMS and Target finder look pretty cool.

Loving the support for eSport broadcast. Very nicely done. Now we can watch COD play like sports :-)

This also makes watching a game play in theatre mode more entertaining.

It sure feels awkward. At least to me. I guess it just feels cheesy. Not to say there is anything wrong with it, though.

Anyone know what platform these are running on? With Nelson there can I assume it's XBOX? The graphics look to have had a huge lift if it is.

Jesus - did you just see the range that target finder worked out to?

Multi-team TDM is very intense.

Although War Machine looks fun to use, it is definitely not practical to be used for run-and-gun.

Surprised to see Select Fire is such a popular attachment in pro players. It definitely make sense to get into semi-auto for long shots.

Yeah I doo-doo my pants when he died after a single kill. Then when he pulled it out again after re-spawning I was so heppy.

I seriously feel like the firing mode alters the weapon's kick

Games are running on Xbox.

You now don't immediately lose your death machine when you die (!). I'm not sure how many deaths you can have with it or if it's based on a time limit, but at least now it's actually worth the high scorestreak. I assume the war machine works the same way.

It seems like a good number of assault rifles are burst fire by default, so if you want full auto, you need burn an attachment on select fire. Interesting balance choice. Burst fire is fast though, there's no arbitrary delay like on current burst rifles. You can basically shoot your second burst as soon as your first burst ends.

Have been hoping to hear some more details about the "league" but so far they have not provided anything interesting regarding how it would work, none of my questions below are answered:

1) how would the "skill" be measured (W/L based hopefully?);

2) how to prevent cheating / boosting / intentional de-ranking etc.

3) how to address host, lag, network connections, etc to ensure fairness;

4) how would match making work for a party of players at different skill levels. (If I am in the "knife" league, can I still play with my superman friends who are in top 2%?)

5) how would it work across game modes? (A player could be great in TDM but not as great in Dom)

6) How would this integrate with the clans on Elite?

Yeah, thats an interesting choice for a name.

Also this mode.. I forgot its name already. It looks like rather than setting a radius as we are used to for capturing/points/etc, they choose a custom area. Much nicer. Hopefully they apply this to Dom as well.

And the shotguns look great. MP7 user got massacred by a shotgun in the livestream.

Toughness looks really good. Basically no DVK. Wouldn't be surprised if it's at least an 80% reduction like Hardened.

They discussed smoke trails from snipers like it was default for all of them??

The audience are being told to woop and holla and are embarrassed by doing it. ;D

Contrails are now a feature. If Silencers for Snipers make it back, I'd imagine they would remove the contrail.

For bros who don't know yet, the attachment that gives you "steady aim" (better hip fire) is called Laser Sight.

Among all the attachments revealed, I still yet to find details about

1) Adjustable Stock: is this the same as "Grip"?
2) Grenade Scanner?

It was only an hour long. The 870 sniped a guy from a second story window.

Alright, so here's another question since I wasn't really watching. anyone know how the movement system works this time around? I mean that changes a lot...

MW2: Based on starting weapon
Blops: Based on weapon in hand
MW3: Based on slowest weapon

....anything new this time?

1) The live streaming today is 1 hour long. Replay can be watched on XBL. Hopefully on YouTube soon.
2) 4 matches are broadcasted: TDM, multi-team TDM, Hardpoint and Dom, on different maps. Definitely worth watching.
3) All primary weapon classes are seen in action: AR, SMG, LMG, Shotty, Sniper
4) Attachments featured: Select Fire, Target Finder, Millimeter Scanner, Laser Sight, Ballistic CPU
5) Killstreaks featured: UAV, Hunter Killer, War Machine
6) More streaming tomorrow and the day after. Same time

I imagine the adjustable stock would reduce recoil in some way.

I didn't see any mention of a Grenade Scanner. What are you referring you to?
