If you haven't used it yet, then here's the basic premise; it basically hacker from blops 1, but its a tactical and you can use it from a distance.
Just in case that alone wasn't useful enough with engineer, you can also take down enemy killstreaks with it. You can hack sentries, destroy guardians, take down UAVs, etc.
However, I just found out the really juicy part... You can collect your own care packages with it, even through walls. This makes it incredibly useful for taking packages from a protected area. It picks them up really fast too, so you can save care packages much easier if you get killed off them.
10/10 equipment. A gem just like the blops 1 jammer.

Just wondering though...is there enough equipment usage out there to warrant taking up a tactical slot for it. Especially since it is expended after hacking something/

He was probably like WTF?

My point was that you can only use it on 1-2 pieces of equipment per life unless you have scavenger. Engineer is a separate thing in itself. I do think that Engineer can be useful but BHPDA just seems to situational to me

The black hat is so versatile beyond just hacking equipment that it's well worth only getting 1-2. It's useful any time the enemy uses basically anything but their gun or a grenade.

Whether you want to call it efficient or not, the PDA is definitely a hell of a lot of fun. Hacking an enemy's Betty through a wall and having them run into it a couple of seconds later is priceless. I even fire my gun just to alert them to my presence and lure them into it.
However, I also tried to hack a Sentry Gun through a wall and it didn't quite work for some reason. Does the PDA function similarly to the MMS in that you can only use it through one obstacle (e.g. wall) at a time?

Also, if an enemy care package is stuck on the roof or out of bounds, you can hack it and take it for yourself.

Wow. Care Packages just became a lot more dangerous. 1st: All rewards are powerful 2nd: The enemy can steal it.

With engineer, I was able to take an enemy care package and hack it with Engineer. A satisfying triple kill ensued.

So can you take enemy CP's from a distance like your own?

It does tell you that your equipment has been hacked, cue me turning around and slotting the guy.

Only if he has engineer on, and it's still stealthier than shooting it.

Is it possible to steal a carepackage while it is falling from the heli?

Aye...right now I am working on developing my perfect "see how fast I can level up class." Things that garuntee me xp...you know?
The trophy system is a guaranteed 50 xp on non-SnD objective games. Simply throw it at the most heavily contested objective.Black Hat combined with engiee is also big points...
I'm thinking....
Tactician Trophy Trophy Black Hat Black Hat Engineer Flak Scav Chicom Laser
No explosive kills so no synergetic conflict with scavenger. Flak is a redundancy because of the popularity an rapidity of nade spam. The only problem I see is no fast hands which means slow trophy deploy.

that sounds great, it also sounds nice that there's a lot of equipment on the map. I was a bit disappointed with the amount of red objects I saw in MW3 compared to MW2, but this sounds like good news.

I'd trash one of the tropies and the laser for fast hands that defeats the purpose of tactician then. None of the lethals are guaranteed points. Tactician only gets maximum effectiveness if you are using all 4 slots for equipment (since normally you only have 3 slots - 1 lethal 2 tactical). I have no qualms about sacrificing the laser...but the trophy?....yeah... I would prolly give up flak then.

aye but in this game trophies are just so good! lol
I guess my version was just going for most amount of guaranteed points...not practicality. I guess a fusion of the two might work...

So I played a bit of solo two nights ago after everyone from the Lan party left. I saw a teammate call in his carepackage and run to a chokepoint to defend it while he called it in. I see the chopper fly in...The devil on my left shoulder starts whispering sweet nothings into my ear.
I pull out my blackhat PDA.
I steal my own teammate's war machine.
I am a bad person.

lol true.
Speaking of engineer. It combos with black hat to make long range booby trapped care packages. I've done that a bunch of times.
Also in SnD next time I play I want to try to pull off a special care package trap. I want to call it in near my spawn....wait for someone to come along. take it with my PDA....and shoot them.

yeah. Tactician gets way more use from me than any other wildcard. It also gives scavenger far more use.
