Most bros already know that a 33 damage weapon can kill in 3 bullets if you also hit them with a tactical grenade. For those that didn't know, a hit marker with a tactical grenade will deal at least 1 damage, so all you need is three 33 damage shots to kill someone instead of four (3*33+1 = 100 damage). In past CoD games, weapons had a sloped damage change between min and max range. In BO2, almost all the weapon have a static damage drop between ranges so I think tacticals are more important than ever now. I decided to make a quick chart to see which weapons gain the most from preemptive tacticals. It basically shows the normal 3-hit-kill range and compares to the 33 damage range. I used symthic's chart/units for this. The difference is pretty crazy for some weapons. All SMGs and ARs can become 3 hit kills. The SF SWAT and M8A1 can 3-hit-kill at such far distances for their high firerates. There are a couple weapons that don't gain any benefit from tacticals though. Those weapons don't have a 33 damage range and I marked them in red text. LSAT is the only LMG that benefits from tacticals, and by a large amount too. The basic idea would be to throw a tactical into high traffic areas or around corners hoping for a hit marker, then proceed to 3-hit-kill them at a much longer range than normal. The best class setup to utilize tacticals imo is this: - Any Weapon Not marked with red text above
- Scavenger
- 1-2x EMP/Flash Grenades
- Optional: Fast Hands
... Ya Edit: I just remembered this video I saw a while ago that fits into this concept. He got shot 3 times for 33 damage each, then dies from a long range EMP nade lol.

Great stuff. Can I assume Concussion and Flash do the same damage? You only mention EMP and Flash.

I too have noticed this...and it provides a niche away from tac inserts (diversity is always nice). EMP grenades have such an incredibly huge radius. I can freely spam them and gain assists out of nowhere. I already knew the Mk46 turns into a 2 shot monster at close range when you stun a person...but this is making me take a second look at the LSAT.

Wouldn't you need two tacticals for the mk48 to be 2 hit kill? Or does stun deal 2 damage?

Great stuff. When using EMP grenade I did feel an "intangible" benefit besides its (very minor and brief) blinding effect and HUB disabling effect, but can't quite identify what it is. This post made it very clear.
With this enlightenment I can see more justified usage of EMP and Flash, which have good impact radius but weak effects (vs. Shock and Stun, which have strong effects but small radius)

Marvel said a while back that they do constant damage....so that means 2 damage is easy for them to inflict. I don't know why I grouped that mk48 thought with the emp/stun thoughts.

With this gnarly concept in mind, here's my ultimate objective guy class:
1. AN-94 2. Adjustable Stock 3. Grenade Launcher 4. FHJ-18 AA 5. Flak Jacket 6. Scavenger 7. Engineer 8. Tactical Insertion 9. Tactician 10. EMP Grenade
Eeeh? Eeeh? *nudge* :3

thanks for posting this because its something ive never noticed yet while playing. Now that i think about it though on my vector class when i stun people they always seemed to die a bit faster then normal and i always get a lot of hs's after stunning people to possibly because of the 3rd shot in the recoil pattern.

This game, moreso than any other cod given the spawns and maps, means that the chances of you firing on someone with less than 100 health is much higher. I find that this is often not factored in by this wonderful community.
Ultimate objective class is
MSMC w/ Laser Sight Launcher Flak Jacket + Lightweight + P1 Greed Scavenger Tac Mask (who cares about enemy equipment when you wont register them hitting you?) C4 Shock thing

I don't really see a use for that since there's already Flak Jacket.

Oh nice, I didn't think about that one. brutalonslaught: TacMask is awesome, but I think you still take that 1 damage from tacticals. I guess one drawback to using tacs with large radius is it can hit you and then your opponents gain the benefit from it lol.

25 to 50 extra points doesn't compare much to grinding things up with your weapon. Plus, not only are Trophies susceptible to one mere bullet, you're prone to get shot as you deploy them unless you spend yet another point for Fast Hands. Not very cost-efficient compared to FJ. Finally, one can easily place their TI back in an enclosed area to deny explosives.

I forgot to mention, because of the low headshot multipliers in BO2, these 33 damage weapons are pretty much the only weapons that benefit from headshots.
