Some people may not know this already, but in black ops 2, your own explosive damage is not reduced by flak jacket.
I hate this, as I'm someone who spams explosives, I'm always blowing myself up with C4, RPGs, Carbombs, so on and so forth.
It should only be fair for flak jacket to protect against your own explosives like it protects against everything else.
The worst is when I fire an RPG or use a C4 against an enemy and they have Flak Jacket, ending in them surviving and me dying (because I've been weakened by their bullets), how is this fair?
What do other people think, do you think the change is good, do you agree with me?

Another surprising fact I don't know. What's the rationale behind this, to prevent explosive abuse (e.g.: point blank SMAW)?
If that's the case, I can understand their thought process. In general, 3arc went out its way to eliminate tactics that are based on abuse (in a few occasions they went over board)

I think the change is good, because in OBJ games when my opponents destroy my TI (or if I'm playing in an environment where TI isn't allowed) I can c4 myself for a better (closer to the objective) spawn, while still having Flack Jacket (which I will want when I get there).

The next time I get my hands on BO2 (sometime in Jan), I will make a class with 2 stuns + Tac Mask + Fast Hands and throw the stuns in CQC. I'll know immediately whether this can be an effective strategy or not :-)

Tac Mask does protect you from your own tacticals I believe. One of the reasons I ran it the whole time I was getting the Assault Shield to diamond, close range stun spam.
I'm annoyed that Vonderhaar said pre-release that Flak Jacket would protect you from hunter killer and the RC-XD, and it definitely doesn't.

It also never protects you from lighting strikes and Hellstorm missiles.
On that note, it pisses me off how the scatter rockets produced by the Hellstorm missile follow you around, it basically means that there is no escaping them, even if you run away as soon as it is launched. Because it follows you, Flak Jacket has no effect 85% of the time

Trophies don't help with the clustered Hellstorm; however, if the missile isn't clustered (which I have no idea why somebody wouldn't cluster it) the Trophy works fine against it.

I hate how Blind Eye doesn't protect you from Sentry Guns, if you're going to make it controllable don't make the AI version able to detect you.

I was irked the first time when I found that Blind Eye never protected you from Guardians, but Sentries too? Forget that perk, I've got my launcher/PDAs instead.

Agreed, it would be kind of nice to have Blind Eye protect you from Sentry Guns and AGRs while they're on 'autopilot'. Currently, the only things it protects you from are Hunter Seekers (including Swarm, which you stumble upon once every blue moon), Stealth Choppers, and Escort Drones. Possibly the heat-seeking effect of the Hellfire Missile. Still, that's a pretty meager benefit in my book.

I think this change sucks. I can't count how many times someone has shot C4 as I'm tossing it from behind my shield and I die despite having a shield AND flak jacket. I call BS.
