After prestiging a few times I've started to go back and look at the challenges I didn't complete (without trying). This isn't really for emblems or anything, but just for something to work towards in-game.
I found out that I really never got anywhere with certain attachments:
1) Rapid fire 2) FMJ 3) MMS 4) Select Fire 5) ACOG 6) Dual-band 7) Dual-wield
This got me wondering if anyone has found these attachments particularly useful when paired up with a certain gun or any specific set-up? I went through multiple prestiges without really using any of them. For example, I've had some success with rapid fire on the MK48. Is that about the best use? Also, I've found akimbo anything to be terrible, but most doable on the KAP40's. Is that your experience as well?
Any thoughts on how to most easily complete the challenges (or if any particular set-up is especially fun to use)?

The MK48 will help you out with 1, 2, 5, and 6. (any LMG will get you 2,5, and 6) See my post in the 10X10 thread, and replace the TF with the dual/acog
The M27 will help you out with 3 (when I've seen MMS's, generally, they've been on the M27)
The FAL or SMR will help you with 4 (most times, when I see the FAL, select fire is a popular attachment)
And lucky #7..... the executioner >;> (for esses and geez)

The MMS pairs best with the SCAR-H, I've found. The high penetration is more useful for going for wallbang kills. As probably the best way to use it, try pairing it with smoke grenades in Domination or wandering outside of most hardpoint locations to flush stationary campers out by hosing them through walls. Hijacked would be a real fun one for that.
I really liked the B-93rs for dual wield. I leveled up the Tac-45s thinking that they were going to be better, but I found that the B-93s were easier to use and just absolutely shredded people in about the same area of effectiveness as a hipfire SMG.

Besides Mousey's excellent recommendations:
Rapid Fire: try it on Chicom
Select Fire: try it on Vector. This will increase the fire rate within burst to 1250, basically gives you an equivalent of Chicom with (possibly) better recoil, and the choice of firing auto (still the original RPM) vs. burst.
Put Select Fire on FAL will convert the weapon into easy mode.
MMS is one of my most favorite attachments, and THE most favorite sight attachment. If not for its last unlock (I usually immediately prestige weapons when they get here) I would have used it a lot more often. Now I finally have the PDW mastered (both prestige and camo), I have my most try hard class as PDW w/QD+Stock+MMS. With Lightweight perk you can practically walk ADS with it in any potentially hostile territories.
If you find yourself wanting a sight on an SMG or AR (e.g.: due to less appealing iron sight), consider MMS.
Want more bang for the buck when you are working on SCAR-H w/FMJ? Add MMS as well.
ACOG is a bit of grind. To get to master you'll first need 500 kills, which are a lot, especially considering that it does not offer enough zoom advantage to offset its view obstruction when compared with EOTech (which by the way, only requires 125 ADS kills for its master requirement).

I primarily use mms for the "no zoom" ability. (it is a bonus on some maps) and with the scanning ability as a bonus.
My main issue with ads walking with stock is sometimes I feel like my peripheral suffers too much. But I love ads walking with smgs simply because you'll be faster than regular walking. So, I use mms to accommodate for that peripheral. And if I'm using an smg, I don't really need an enhanced zoom.

1) Rapid fire is garbage on everything except possibly a couple LMGs. The Mk 48, for example, becomes a giant KAP-40 (without the favorable handling of a sidearm, of course). It's a wholly superfluous addition to the Chicom in my experience. 2) I never use FMJ. 3) MMS is one of the best optics available. Try it out on the KSG. If you can get used to the reticule's floatiness, you can get some hilarious wallbangs. Also fun to use if you have a class with Scav and Smoke (Fast Hands optional). Not super practical but the one game I tried this tactic out in someone called me a "smoke fag." 4) Besides making the FAL and SMR semi-auto, Select Fire's effects are pretty meh. If you use it on the M8A1, you might as well just use the Type 95, if you ask me. You can try it on the Chicom if you want... full auto, it has virtually no recoil. 5) ACOG isn't a terrible attachment like it used to be in this game, but I'm still not a fan. Maybe on the SVU or something. 6) Dual-Band can be good fun on an LMG. Try it in conjunction with Variable Zoom for novelty. Also, smoke? 7) Dual-Wield is a fun attachment. Whipping out a pair of bedazzled pistols is worth style points, at least. KAP-40 is probably the best here, all things considered. It's an excellent serial engagement close-quarters weapon, no more, no less.

I would echo the smoke fag above.
Select Fire isn't particularly useful but if you whack it on the FAL/SMR/Chicom you wont hurt yourself and still complete the challenge.
Kap 40 dual wield is great fun...

I have some great ramboesque clips with the RF MK48 for my next *ahem* montage. Zero is right about it with RF. Amazing stuff. Combine that with some speed attachments and you really do have a giant kap 40. RF also works in a similar manner on the QBB. It gives the skorpion a run for its money. Think MW3 M60 style of aggressive play.
FMJ seems to work well for me when I use it. It really does feel like it cuts though walls like butter....but then again it feels easy to shoot through walls without FMJ. Try it on hijacked (as previously mentioned) for maximum fun.
Haven't touched MMS as much. It didn't provide challenges...I suppose now that I am PM I will use it more.
SF Vector theoretically works...but not even my TF is that good. I tried it on the PDW a while back to see if it made it better at long range engagements...idk... I would use it later in life I think, however right now I am young enough to be able to pull off TF + aim + strategy all at the same time.
ACOG is meh...but it is pretty durn cool looking.
Dual band is pretty cool on the xbow. On the LMGs it does wonders for long range engagements, though many snipers nowadays use coldblooded.
I like dual wield for the badassery... but yeah Kap 40 is prolly best use. I did get a nice quad feed for the akimbo BRs though.
I thought I would mention smoke too.
This is a class I plan to use next time I get on with the HSV1 gang.

dumien: I don't think that you can have 2 smokes. If your teammates carry smokes + TI, you can consider going with 2 trophies + TI, or vice versa.
Personally, I like to go with Smoke + 2 Trophies.

5) ACOG 7) Dual-wield Any thoughts on how to most easily complete the challenges (or if any particular set-up is especially fun to use)? HC games: SVU-AS, Silencer+ACOG Handgun, Dual-wield + Perk: Fast Hands. not for doing a challenge but regular active play on some maps. Effective + fun and you can complete ACOG and Dual-wield and Fast Hands challenges if any.

Thanks for the responses.
Dual-band + smoke on the MK48 is pretty hilarious in ground war. Lots of targets and I can nail people across the map.
I tried using the MMS quite a bit last night. It's incredibly interesting (a novel addition to the game), but my performance with it was sub-par in TDM/KC. I think tonight I'll give it a go (with FMJ) in something like Hardpoint where enemies are forced to camp an objective. I think it will be much more effective there - and that's where I should have started with it.
My K/D is taking a hit because these attachments aren't really optimal for my playstyle, but fuck it - it's keeping it interesting.

You can't use fmj and mms at the same time but a scar cut's through walls like butter without fmj so start there with the mms.

1) Rapid fire - throw it on an LMG 2) FMJ - throw it on an LMG 3) MMS - used in place of a Reflex on something like the swat/fal/smr/m8 etc, can be useful with xbox ahoy class (pdw + mms + suppressor + smoke) 4) Select Fire - i used this on fal/smr/m8, but an94 works well on long range maps like carrier/turbine 5) ACOG - havent touched, lmgs or snipers i guess 6) Dual-band - same as acog 7) Dual-wield - kap40's or b23r's.
