Difficult to compare the recoil pattern you get from loosing off a few clips with a simulation of 100 bursts. There is quite a big random element to the recoil of some of the guns; in the case of the G36, esp with kick, there is a good chance tbat the gun will recover from the recoil before the next shot is fired, but occasionally you will get a big upwards kich of say 60 that the gun cannot recover from. When this occurs is entirely random, I believe, so sometimes the gun will stay on target for several rounds, other times it may kick sharply upwards on the 2nd or 3rd shot. can u guys post the wii smg recoil plots edit: also do rapid fire and no rapid fire on smgs where it affects it I wasn't planning to produce separate plots for the Wii because the actual differences in ROF appear to be modest, and the effect upon the recoil plots will not be very significant. Also, I don't know whether centerspeed is the same on the Wii; if ROF is different, then maybe centerspeed is as well. What I will do soon is fill in the gaps for SMGs + RF; using fred's figures or the game guide figures (haven't decided yet).

I haven't simulated burst firing with variable delay between bursts for MW3 yet. Was meaning to ask you some questions about it but have been working in remote places this weekend. Very remote.

Can you make plots with same ROF to compare with different guns fairly? (Eg: If all guns fire at 1000/500 rpm) Because we can use software like "autohotkey" to reduce fire rate for lower recoil. Or can you publish your pilots making tool?

Or can you publish your pilots making tool? Sorry; no offence, but I'm not going to do this; I'm busy on other projects and just don't have time for hypothetical guns. I don't have a neat tool as such; I use a ginormous and very inelegant spreadsheet which is definately not something that others would find easy to use. It runs to some 65MB for all the functions, and the laptop breaks out into a sweat whenever I plug my USB stick into it! I did look at writing some script, but I really don't think that I can justify the time involved; I don't even play COD any longer.

Again, I don't want to sound intransigent, but I am not going to be producing plots for fictitious weapons - or for every combination of console, gun + attachment (WTF?). Sorry but no. I am really busy with the Firefall Beta at the moment (and in my real life, for that matter), and even if I do get time that I can devote to this thread, I will be filling in the gaps in the existing plots, and producing "% on target" charts and Kill Time Probability graphs.
One thing though, surely the range does not matter; we get no ballistics in MW3. Edit - nice work on your ROF thread.

Would be great if you could add in the size of the character model relative to the size of the recoil plots, like for example would the character models torso be roughly two squares wide & two squares high?

Intersting idea, but depends upon range of course.
One square represents 5 degrees of deviation from your aim point, so the effect of this will vary with range.
Edit - to tell you the truth; I no longer play COD in any of it's many forms, so really not sure I want to devote much time on new features such as this.

does anyone mind doing plots for the FG42? You confused me for a few moments there - "FG42; I can't remember seeing that anywhere; have I missed something?" But we're talking WaW here, I assume (my play time less than 1 hour!). Not planning to do WaW plots, I'm afraid; far too busy with Firefall and BFBC2 (and real life, for that matter).

It is the opinions of quite a few bros that the ACOG no longer inflicts a centerspeed penalty for most weapons.

You should use the fire rates from the guide, since they're the most accurate. We can't get accurate results with the limited framerate on PC.

I'm not sure. On his screen, it will maybe look like he has a higher rate of fire, but since the server isn't affected by frame rate, I think it should be the same. Otherwise players with lower frame rates would always lose, because their gun shoots slower.

SCAR has more recoil: it has greater area on the plot and it has lower accuracy in the table.

The SCAR-L has lower sway and gun kick, though, and the recoil is more predictable.
Could you add plots for Grip/Grip+Kick? The guide says the Grip reduces view kick by 10% and increases centerspeed by 25%.
