So what exactly is the point of this thing? Does it change any stat at all? I know it's pretty pointless to use this over foregrip. But I'm actually starting to think that there isn't any difference with it or just picking no attachment. At first I thought it increased speed of shooting, but it turns out that I can fire a grenade the very millisecond I press "3" to pull it out on the standalone nade launcher. So what advantage is there?

There should be a recoil reduction of some kind if a suppressor reduces recoil... But who knows. I hate the thing. It's just for cool points I guess.

Are you guys for real? It lets you equip the grenade launcher.

Are you guys for real? It lets you equip the grenade launcher. Nope. The nade launcher/ M26 shotgun are available as gadgets, independent of underbarrel rail. I think the rail switches to the launcher/shotty faster and probably looks different when zoomed. I don't know for sure because it's hard to justify using the rail for its aesthetics and (probably) small changes when I could have functional attachments instead.

another small bonus: if you have a laser or flashlight on your gun, you keep the blinding effect when selecting your underbarrel weapon. slightly usefull for MASS or 40mm buckshot, but hardly a gamechanger.
oh, and you get to keep using your sights. wich is kind of fun for MASS slugs.
*really really wishes there were 40mm slugs*

Hm, can see point for the MASS then. I'm not really a tac light fan on the whole, but for shotguns it's great, and sights for slugs is a definite boon.

Yeah, this whole thing kind of took me aback. There really is no difference in the speeds of it. I guess the only real reason to use it would be to ADS your nade launcher for medium ranges. The sights on the standalone are terrible.
But has the grenade launcher itself been nerfed? It's getting so confusing now. The patches are different on all the systems so when I switch from console to PC or vice versa, it's like playing a different game. I was playing on xbox and my grenades were only doing like 25 damage to people even if it landed right by them. But any closer of a shot (direct impact or foot away) and it was an instant kill.

The switch is much faster, but I'll never give up the grip.

In the video, you can see that there is almost no difference when firing grenades. The only noticeable difference is when changing from the grenade launcher back to the rifle - there is a slight delay when not using the rail, enough time to fire 3 rounds from the M416.
As far as I can tell, the underbarrel rail is largely useless.

Yeah, it's definitely not worth giving up the foregrip. But after playing around with both setups some more, there is some kind of use to it maybe. It's hard to really explain scientifically, but it just feels easier to be accurate *quicker* with the underbarrel. When you pull out the standalone launcher, it kind of obstructs your screen for a bit. Even though you can technically fire a grenade out of the side of it the instant you make the switch, it's not quite as easy to aim it during that transition. But it is subjective and I still think you could just train yourself to be more accurate with the standalone. But I heard Demize mumbling on twitter about a possible nerf to the foregrip, or a downside along with it.

Nerf the foregrip? How about just buffing the other attachments into usability?

Seems kinda badass. It could stand to have a small tweak or two, but at least there's a few points to it. I was really worried it was just for cool points.

On a somewhat related note, does anyone else find the new tube to be disgustingly ugly? It's literally a tube now, and almost as long as your gun. Even if underbarrel rail provided real benefits, I'd never stick that thing to my gun. It just looks so terrible. That's why I'll only ever use an AK to tube with underbarrel. Good ol' GP-whatever.

the game does not suffer from people being too hard to kill Lol I said that because nerfing the foregrip won't do anything. People will still use it because ATM there's no reason to use anything else as Assault.
