......anyone else do this from time to time?
This is where you use a run-n-gun class, and then set it up with Hardline and only check off one killstreak, 'UAV'. So every time you get two kills, you get a UAV. Get two more kills, you get another UAV. You can keep doing this over and over and over. I've put up ten plus UAV's in a game dozens of times when I use this setup. Play an objective game where you cap flags, like Dom.....14 to 15 UAV's isn't out of the question.
Again...go to your killstreak selection, and just check off one killstreak, 'uav'. Remove all the others.
Get two guys on your team doing this, it also then becomes ridiculously easy to get advanced UAV's. Two guys put up UAV's....and then all you need to do is for one of the other guy's to get two more kills, ...put up a third UAV, and bingo....advanced UAV.
Do the math. Put up say ten UVA's at 30 seconds....that's half the game. Two guys doing it? You can cover probably 3/4 of a 8 to 9 min game. We''ve done this as a team and pretty much painted the entire other team on radar most of the game....it can really frustrate opponents.

One of the strongest KS setups is UAV > Ballistic Vest. Give that to a good player, and suddenly a ridiculous amount of fire fights are won that shouldn't have been, leading to many more UAVs and Vests ... your team starts doing well, and you gain better positioning and spawn trapping/flanking ... this leads to an easier time getting kills, with more UAVs and Vests ... suddenly the enemy team can't compete without using Assassin and tactical loitering their asses off.
I've seen this spiral happen multiple times. Unlike a slew of Killstreaks that require a bunch to get started and can get shot down immediately, in this game, UAVs are too tough to find and there's no counter to Ballistic Vests.

Short-circuited killstreak setup is a great strategy that somebody mentioned right after the game was released. I have not thought about UAV only w/Hardline, that's a great way to get XPs while exposing the enemy. I have been using UAV/CUAV on support package which is pretty cool as well. Besides exposing the enemy, you also disrupt their radar. Not being able to see the mini-map and know where your teammates are is a significant handicap. Assassin counters both strategy though. However I did not find that a big problem in Ground War because there are always a good number of enemies that don't use Assassin (probably are using Quick Draw or Hardline).

Well, yeah, of course Assassin neuters this strategy. But as the guy above mentioned, take the typical game of Domination on Ground War. Look at the typical profile of a nine person team you are facing....typically.... - 4 to 5 will be Quickscoping snipers, and they all use 'Quickdraw - 1 to 2 opponents usually run with Hardline - 1 to 2 opponents will have on blastshield What's left? Typically, only 1 to 3 opponents will have Assassin. So this strategy will light up anywhere from half to 90% of the opponents. Of course, if you are playing a smart opponent, a real team, they should spot this strategy quickly when they hear 'UAV' coming off every 30 seconds, and switch classes.....but most opponents are pretty dumb in that regard.

I was being a bit of a dick. here's what I should have said, and actually might have some value to readers.... run uav, cp. that way it just takes one more kill, you aren't totally neutered by assassin. you still run up lots of points and hit many pointstreaks but you also do something worth a damn when you get good cps (which is often).

I thought about UAV/CP as well, as CP nowadays seems to drop a lot of goodies (I got 2 reapers, 2 AC130 and 1 assault drone over 8 hours of play time yesterday. Maybe just a luck day :-)). But isn't it better to just do UAV/CP/Predator? Just one more kill you'll reach predator and on average you can get 1.x kill / predator missile.
