Known this for a while and I'm still so damn happy about it. A Steel/Ghost Pokemon was the thing I wanted most out of Gen 6 and my wish came true. I don't even care if it's a forgettable Pokemon with low base stats and no evolutions. Rumor has it that it has No Guard. Since it's a sword it can probably learn Guillotine. If this is the case, I'll be like this with a team of six of these fuckers:

No way will it learn a ko move with no guard, they have to balance the game to some extent, fancy have a player ethering ther way through the elite four, and they have banned OHKO moves anyway.

A reason use steel moves on Lucario? Special mega lucario has more power now, aura sphere is now as strong as focus blast... Which is a plus because I ducking hate that move. If you use a mega lution though you can't choice them, but so far all the forms outside of mewtwo aren't meant to be choices. Imagine mega Blaziken.... There is now no reason to use Blaziken in any metagame if you get the stone on launch assuming Blaziken stays Uber (which it should SD speed boost is OP, I don't like pokemon that boost speed and an offensive stat at the same time it's just annoying to deal with especially as pokemon are offensive enough threats without these boosts in BW2, it'd be fine if stalling was as good outside of top tier players)
Mega Mawile gets huge power... Base 85 attack with a modest nature that's 590 attack points. It'll get a boost to base defence and fuck shit up.

I don't understand why Mawile and Absol didn't just get regular evolutions. And, assuming not all Pokémon are getting Megalutions, I also don't get why they gave Megalutions to some of the already most-powerful Pokémon like Blaziken and Lucario...
Can't fucking wait for Dunsparce's evolution/megalution though. That shit is going to be insane. And don't tell me there won't be one. I know there will be. You'll see. You'll all see.

Mawile Rape Mode is terrifying.
Also, I totes called that absol would someday get an evolution. Magic bounce would limit him to singles...but that is pretty sweet nonetheless.
Never in a million years did I think Ampharos would get an evo, nevermind that evo being the first electric dragon (nvm zekrom)... though he would need some serious boosts in order to use that typing offensively. Firing off an outrage from a 75 attack stat is not impressive at all.
I guess the varied mega occurrence in terms of evolution # is to hammer in the idea that any pokemon could potentially be a "mega." Borrowing from the card game I see...

it allows it to attack twice. We don't yet know what that means (double move effects, timing, effect with non attacking moves, etc)... but if it is an exact replica of the move (albeit weaker) then there are alot of cool practical applications. double stomp/body slam... double giga impact/double edge...

I just watched a trailer for the Megavolutions and apparently they can only be done in battle one-time-use consumable and will revert to their regular form at the end of the battle.

Maybe you'll be able to get multiple of the same mega stone though after you use it.

You need to know exactly what counter you're trying to beat when you use a gem though Usagi, but yes gems are good for many niche situations, say rock gem Terakion 2 hit koing Gliscor.

Gems are alright I guess, but like Kitty said they're mostly for niche situations - probably only occurring once every few battles. Most Pokémon most of the time prefer to use non-consumables. Flying Gem paired with Acrobatics and/or Unburden is probably the only scenario where a consumable is on par with non-consumables.

Gems see far more use in VGC because Power>survivability in most cases. Pokes can last 1 turn and still do work. Gems are conducive to battling with that idea in mind.
Dragon Gem Latios is amazing because you can pop the draco meteor whenever you want to burn through most pokes HP without having to use a choice item and you can still pop other attacks like protect, psyshock/psychic, HP fire, tailwind, or sub.
Fighting gem is seen with defensive threats like hitmontop for a one turn shot at offense.
However the gem really shines for field cleaners like TR Eruption Heatran/Waterspout Wailord.

If you know the metagame well, like I said you can counter a unit that would normally counter you, potentially letting another poke sweep. Lets just assume that you have a Keldeo with HP ghost instead of bug, now Celebi can wall you. Bring in the appropriate counter to lure Celebi, say a Latios with a dragon gem for Draco, and boom Celebi is toast, it gets 2 shotted.

Did anyone see the worlds games btw? The champ 4-0ed in the second game of finals... incredible use of U-turn->Amoongus taking advantage of the opponent's own TR.
This match was all amoongus. Last of Us didn't have mushrooms that scary...

I do bring priority, sometimes I bring taunt, Rhyperior iirc is the only poke in standard sets that brings multi hit. You're not doing anything productive with Liepard, you're sitting there with hoping to get a few lucky kills. It's like Ohko moves and double team only people can counter your Shit tits set, only every taunt user is slower, including Sableye, and priority don't mean Shit when they're behind a sub being a dick after they destroyed one of your pokes. Is it good? No way. Is it a bitch move? I think so.
