Hey Bros
Which aircraft is the a: most fun, and b: the most noob friendly to fly.
I tried out the NC Reaver and found it a bit sluggish to handle; maybe just my noobishness.
Got on better with the VS Scythe; seems to be a bit more responsive and noob friendly (actually got a noob kill - shot down a Mosquito that appeared in my sights).
Haven't tried the Mosquito yet.
Any tips welcome. Is it worth getting a joystick?

The Reaver is the most noob friendly. It is a flying tank with the heaviest armor, most powerful gun and the best air brakes (which is by far its best advantage). The Scythe is the most maneuverable and has the overall middle-ground performance, but is flimsy. The Mosquito is the weakest. Its tiny speed "advantage" doesn't come close to the Reaver dancing circles around it in a dogfight and barely matches the Scythe.
Because the most effective modus operandi of aircraft battle is to hit the brakes and turn in place to face your enemy while using the Vertical Thrusters to maneuver, the Reaver is top dog. The three aircraft are simply too similar in acceleration (thanks to Afterburners) and top speed maneuverability that there's no way for the Mosquito or Scythe to outrun or out-turn the Reaver and its bigger gun.
Though the joystick controls still suck, you will surely get more out of it once they work right. A combination of keyboard and stick will serve better than keyboard and mouse.

Thanks Den. Hopefully they'll do some balancing before release.
I can see me getting heavily into this game.

nope, basically:
there's liberators (gunship) that hold 3 (I think). regardless of faction, you can choose a liberator
there's the galaxy, which I think holds 12 people and acts like a mobile spawn point. This is your aerial transport vehicle
and last there's 3 single seat aircrafts, the "jets". each faction gets his own unique one

I cannot fly a plane. Don't ever let me try again until every foreign substance it out of mys system is there a way to set it up so that left and right on the mouse turns the plane left and right, and A/D for rolling it? Really those were the controls I was expecting (....for some reason) but I don't see a way to modify that. Tbh I used to screw around on a fight soon through high school since one out my friends was going into the air force, but I'd rather have mouseX stick too yaw and not swap between that and roll a bunch. And I don't have the cool flight sim gear I believe that you might be able to bind the vehicle keys and mouse in the manner you suggest (haven't tried), but that of course would screw things up completely when you hop into a tank. Flying is the one thing that I'm really struggling with in PS2, the mouse/keyboard controls are counter-intuitive. Mouse for left right as well as up down would certainly help, but when all is said and done, keyboard control will always be second best. And I keep hitting E, resulting in a long, very long fall and a hard, very hard landing. I'm thinking that a joystick has got to be the way to go. Any bros got any recommendations?
