Stat padders? Lol, IDGAF about the stats. I want to have FUN.
My little stat padding self is still doing quite well in BO2, I just dont enjoy it.
Being put up against equals just makes every match a coin flip. That little bit of lag means so much more, and if you have the worse team, you no longer matter. You simply lose now.
Before, being good could let you solo a match. Not anymore.

And I mean it's freaking call of duty, if it takes someone until CoD Nine to figure out that this game is not built for the competitive userbase, then that's their own problem. Not necessarily a sticking point in of itself: SSBM* certainly wasn't made to be a competitive game. *Not to be confused with SBMM.

Most of the time it doesn't work, and skill is a pretty loose term in call of duty anyway But in a world where the skill based stuff would actually work perfectly, and assuming connections would be good; what would seem more like a coin toss to you? Hitting the search button and coming up against either a crappy team or a great team; or coming up against a team of similiar skill

And also the fact that Nintendo couldn't have patched Melee if they wanted to and that Sakurai explicitly stated that Brawl was designed for casual players (and it was).

Now you win or lose based on lag and the pre-game lobby matchmaking.

well yeah, and having or not having skilled based matchmaking isn't gonna change anything. That's just shitty netcodes being shitty netcodes

I'm not sure I dislike sbmm. I hate playing on the losing team; no matter how hard I try, we lose (most of the time I'm the #1 player on the match, followed by the worse randoms ever).

Once again, Treyarch panders to the week. The whole "equalizing" thing they do kind of disgusts me sometimes. Could not have said it better myself. But they will continue to do this kinda stuff, because it appeals to casual players, and the number of casual players far outweighs the number of hard core players. So they will gain more casuals, lose some hard core players, and have an overall net gain, which equals more money . Is this a joke? You spent all last week complaining about skill based matchmaking and now you're whining about how they're "catering to the weak?" You wany a competitively oriented game that pits you up against knuckle dragging dipsh its? Seriously make up your fu cking mind. Edit: and please don't ignore this. I'm honestly excited to hear your excuse. How fu cking stupid are you? Skill-based matchmaking IS, I repeat IS catering to the weak. That's the entire point of it - making it so that baddies no longer have to take their lumps, they just get EZ-mode lobbies all the time. Matching skill levels has NOTHING to do with how competitive a game is. A competitive game is determined by how much your skill makes a difference in your score, not "equalizing" every god da mn part of the game. SBMM is in the same category as deathstreaks - they make it easier on bad players and don't allow skilled players to earn the score that their skill normally would allow them to achieve. Nerfing dropshotting is the same da mn thing. Christ, will you shut the fu ck up about the fact that I dislike SBMM? I never bring it up. It's like you scour every thread looking for another chance to bi tch about the fact that I hate SBMM. You were never this annoying in the MW3 days.

In the interest of sticking to the original topic, I'll ask another mobility/accuracy related question. I am reformatting my gaming rig and am unable to check this out for myself.
Can one, like in MW3, still slap a thermal sight onto a weapon and gain the ability to crawl in prone while ADS and firing? Given the accuracy increase for LMGs while prone in BO2 I could see this being a useful advantage. Can one also perform the PC lean animation and still move while ADS and firing?

If a bad kid is matched up with other bad kids...and has an easy lobby, then why don't you have an easy lobby when you're matched up with other kids of your skill level? In regards to the thermal sight, sure, why not, as this is more of a game-wide thing. Not sure about leaning as no one outside of promod leans.
