FAL with Silencer+SF+TF (Standoff!) See, I only find SF to be useful on the FAL at close range. With a little practice you can put 3 shots on someone faster with semi-auto than you can with the select fire, because it shoots faster that way and you're more likely to hit with all three shots. I know it's an unpopular choice around here but when I want to do standoff shooting, I use the SMR/TF or SMR/ACOG.

I think the best AR combinations all depends on your play style and the game type you're playing.
For instance, I tend to move around moderately with ARs (less than I'd rush with SMGs, but more than the way I post up with LMGs), from power point to power point, with the emphasis on making best use of cover and pivot-points, and being generally aware of where the other team are coming from and thus being read for them. I'm getting into gun-fights where the other guy is facing me as he runs out, but he can't see as much of me as I can of him, and I'm trying to make sure that he's in the optimal range for my AR. I also try and ADS in advance, rather than reacting quickly.
I tend to use the AN-94, FAL, SCAR and occasionally the MTAR (my try-hard choice of AR for it's all-roundedness). I started out with the MTAR until I'd unlocked the others and used my 3rd prestige token on the AN-94. I might use one of my later tokens on the SCAR.
Of the other ARs that I've tried enough to offer an opinion (Type 25, M8, M27), they either seem to be too weak or offer no particular advantage over the ones I already use.
Back to attachments, I think in all cases I've got stock + suppressor.
I like suppressor both to keep off the mini-map (even though I don't usually use ghost on my AR classes) and because of the reduced muzzle flash, which I find particularly helps with my aiming. Staying off the mini-map seems to significantly reduce the likelihood of facing multiple enemies at once, and also reduces the risk of getting flanked. At least in my experience.
Stock is useful because I like to ADS as I go round corners, and strafe in head-to-head gunfights out in the open when I do get into those. I also like to ADS as I move up behind cover, so that I'm ready to shoot over it if there's someone the other side.
I've never been a big fan of optics on ARs. When I started out with CoD (MW2) I literally couldn't hit anything without the red dot sight. But I found that I was at a disadvantage to those who'd learned to use the iron sights because they got to pick another attachement, so in MW3 I forced myself to use the iron sights until I'd mastered them. (G36C in MW3 was an exception, because I liked the gun a lot for long range accuracy, but found the iron sights terrible, so I used the red dot.) Of the BO2 ARs I use, the iron sights all seem fine.
