bf4central.com/2013/08/new-battlefield-4-features-revealed-voip-emblems-and-more/To summarize:
- VOIP coming to PC at launch -- it's available for Squads first, then full team later. - Players can create their own emblems and place them on their weapons and possibly vehicles as well. (Y U NO STOP GIVING ME REASONS TO BUY, DICE?! :3)
Also, 7 grenade types will be available, 4 of which are:
- V-40 Mini grenade - Flashbangs - Hand Flares - Impact Grenades
Plus, DICE revealed that there are more weapons that haven't been shown yet.

I like the effect that shows up when you get shot, when I watch some BF3 gameplay I can't even tell if the guy gets shot or not, it just looks weird
this game looks really cool though, I'm looking forward to it a lot, I like the weather changes and naval vehicles

Yay rechyyy. Anyway, I think I'll like this mode. I love Rush, but it's a bit too linear on most maps.
As for the emblems...bleh. Nothing good can come of that. Hand held smoke grenades are a welcome addition. Not sure if I'd ever use incendiaries or flashbangs though.

I suppose "We crunched the numbers and made sure every class was highly viable like in BFBC2 to encourage variety and depth in gameplay" is harder to market than "We can blow up things and the map changes; no other game has done this yet!"

`To be fair though, looks like quite some changes to medic/buffs to others.
Defibs needing charges and running on limited "ammo" is hopefully gonna hurt it alot

Other then that, I'm hearing it's premium based. I suppose that'll weed out the dumb if true.

That sounds good, although a large chunk of the playerbase will have Premium anyway. Makes things like the priority queue pointless.
And I've just realised how ironic it is that I'm complaining about emblems, while still using mine from Black Ops for my avatar. Maybe I can make a better one with BF4.

Squeezing an extra $50 out of a game that costs $60 is a huge influx of additional money...especially for shit that would have otherwise been free anyway.

Dice needs to stop making BlueBerry Field and start making an open world(Fallout/Farcry-esque) RPGs.

What if the CoD community shunned Wetwork from CoD4 so hard that it crashed onto shore to create a map event in BF4?

BF3 was a good base but the game needed refinements in almost every single aspect so i'm hoping this game will deliver on that

Naw.
Also nuttin wrong with client side detection with the shooting of the guns. I would rather have my shots report on time when I shoot at what I see and get the memo of my death a second later than have my shots take two seconds to tell me they hit something but actually missed and not realize I've been dead for the past five seconds like server side hit detection.
Course it's all up to the developers to make any sort of netcode not crap.

i'm not intimately familiar with the technical side of both systems. what i know is that in bad company 2 it worked and felt a million times better for me than in bf3.

Well if i remember correctly lots of the BC2 maps were less cluttered with small pieces of cover and corners. Plus BC2 movement speed mightve been a bit slower than BF3's
Hopefully it'll get fixed. Everything else looks pretty solid so far. Attachments seem simplified, no more heavy barrels that increase range drop off, bullet velocity ánd base spread by like 75% at the cost of a bit of hipspread and vertical kick. The new barrel is straight up 50% base spread decrease for 50% more kick. Perfect for single shots and short bursts, shit for everything else.
LMGs seem usable outside of the semi-forced bipod loadout. Stuff like the mortar getting buffed/reworked. Revive trains being dealt with
Particularily that last part is the best thing. That alone might even make Metro enjoyable (since it's coming back; woohoo)

The only way I'll be happy about Metro coming back is if the map is severely revamped, or we can blow holes in walls/ceilings to make alternate passageways. Otherwise you can have your super linear cluster****.

Hey, you never know these days. For whatever reason Metro is the most popular map. Plus I've seen some Denizens playing 24/7 Metro servers...
