Now to piss mousey off with what I'm currently listening to: you're such a softie! I know how much you love Mumford And Sons, so that was naturally the first thing I posted.

its not like theyre bad at what they do or anything. they just kind of personify a genre that im not too fond of. They openly admit that they aren't good at their instruments. It's just that their music has good lyrics, good synergy between the members, and how it just flows together. The passion they put into it is evident.

I like marches.
Here's a march.

I just got back from doing my Private Voice I final. Here, I sing Panis Angelicus in F major: vocaroo.com/i/s1pA0G5B5ts5 one or two rhythm mistakes, being tense in the throat, shaky start-ups, but otherwise yay! Also forgive the static, was too lazy to splice my voice together with the piano, so just played it through the speakers and put the mic next to it while I stood high above.

I like how Twitch streams introduce me to new songs I would've never otherwise listened to.

One of the greatest pieces of music ever written is George Frideric Handel's Messiah Oratorio.
If you experience crackling in your speakers due to volume, lower the Youtube volume and increase the speaker output volume. That goes for all audio, decrease the output and increase the scaling on the further end. It only works to an extent, though.

Far too dissonant for me. Well, I think that video is a really easy example for when I try to say that aesthetics is a real thing that can have universals and generalizations. The first one of those generalizations (supported by AP music theory!) is that dissonant sounds are usually ugly. :(
Here's the real deal, which actually has a dissonant first chord, which sounds badass despite what I said :P
Edit: this song gives me chills every foxtrotting time I listen to it, so good.

The whole point of Synthesia isn't to make music that sounds great, but to make it as complex as possible to the point where crashing your own computer is a trophy.

Aye, but my purpose is to enjoy the beauty of music, and beyond the grand feat itself, it is not beautiful in the slightest. I did at one point enjoy the Circuis song or whatever that was. Edit: Listening to the super IMPOSSIBLE midi, I have to say that its notes are fairly uniform comparatively. Also I feel like I've heard that song many times afore. Edit: Oh, yeah, I remember all those arguments of people trying to say Wavedashing is bad for being contrary to developer intent. . . which it isn't, but that's irrelevant, developer intent does not matter in the slightest to me.

Speaking of beauty. . . Here's another rousing march, this time by our good friend Tchaikovsky. Edit: If that's not your thing, how about some Mozart Symphony 25?
