Stickybomb launcher now has damage ramp up, full dmg reached two seconds after firing. its about -50% at start up to about 33% more at full. But why?

There's been a glitch in my game where someone will start a conga line, and when they stop to pull out their primary their character model will still be doing the conga while holding their weapon. I've seen a heavy, medic, and soldier do this, and it's kinda hilarious. I know I already said this before, but MvM is an intense PvE matchup weighed down by a more casual community. In Boot Camp I keep landing in a party where everyone leaves and joins and leaves and joins, then more people start leaving because the game never starts. I run into cases where my team would miss over half the credits on the field because the scout invested nothing in defenses. In run into cases where the team has 4 engis, a demo, a scout, and a A credit rating. As a result I'm finding PvP matchups to be more relaxing similar to how playing American football with a porcupine ball is less painful than playing with a flaming cannonball. I don't exactly understand why some gametypes are for beginners while others are for 'advanced players'. In this case I find 5cap to be particularly lenient towards newcomers simply because the objective is pretty straightforward.

I really like MvM, but only played it when my GF would and she's done with it now. We both are basically casual tryhards. In other words we like to win and we do what we can, but we're never going to put 100's of hours into the game and develop razor sharp reflexes and encyclopedic metaknowledge... we just want to play and have fun, and hopefully win some, (because it's fun to win).
Having said that we got fed up with the community rather than the game. Games never starting because of the joining and quitting really got old... very very old. On top of that there's often one or two super tryhard assholes who believe it's their God given duty to tell everybody else how much they suck.
I gotta be honest, I'm finding the trend in a lot of games recently to actually limit communication is more and more to my liking... If I play with friends we use Steam or Teamspeak, ect. We really don't need or want any sort of in game communication.

I've noticed recently that most of me attempts to play MvM were done in the afternoon during Steam's peak time. This is often where I stop getting lobbies that know what they're doing. I'd get that one teen/preteen who is completely and utterly clueless, but worst of all had a mic. Example, in one failed MvM lobby we had a kid with a mic going scout. We missed out on about half the credits in third wave because the scout kept dying. He insisted that everyone in the party buy damage buffs early on, and that set the tone for the rest of the match. There are those lobbies where support characters are heavily overdone. Two medics, multiple snipers; classes that did jack squat throughout the match. I once had a 4-year-old with a mic in the lobby. At least his voice pitch, speech pattern, and frag count reflected that. It didn't take long for everyone to quit out of that one.
I hypothesize that if I play Boot Camp in the evening instead of the late afternoon (In EST that's Steam's peak traffic period) I'm more likely to get better players in my lobby. There have been a few nights where I couldn't sleep, logged onto TF2 at 2 AM, and landed in an ideal MvM matchup. I went scout despite not having Milk, but apparently you can still collect money and draw aggro while under the effects of Atomic Punch. Long story short we didn't have a medic, but our demoknight was helping with the DPS on tanks and some of the money collection. Every else knew what they were doing, and it felt pretty badass. This is only one matchup, but I will follow up with my findings in time.
Overall I'm finding that MvM could use a lesson or two from Killing Floor. Scaling enemy count for varying team sizes and/or some sort of ranking system to have players of similar calibers playing alongside one another would be nice to have. Optionally a more flexible means of swapping classes and letting every map play out on every difficulty would be neat.
One last thing- is it still possible to randomly get keys? It happened to me back in 2010 over 250 hours of play, but that was one time.

I've recently figured out that demoknight is a viable money collector. He doesn't benefit from drops, he's slow, but he has relatively cheaper upgrades for his sword. However, I later found out that I smelted most of my demoknight gear to get 3 refined metal and a "hat". Worth it.

Scout can also Sandman + Flying Guillotine which is surprisingly effective especially upgraded. I've done it a few times and it's fun as hell.

It's good for slowing them down though and going after Medicbots and Spybots. It's also good for when they first drop down into the map for teammates to deal with. You can pretty much stand right at the front most of the game just smashing the balls at the bots. I agree Scout isn't really a powerhouse, but it's great for support. It's also just fun to be able to mix it up without being a complete detriment to the team.

Idk, that atomic punch has saved my ass a few times when my health is low, the map's advanced, and there's a butt-ton of money behind all those bots. The drawing-aggro bit is pretty nice.
Melee has a few major setbacks. For one there are no melee resistances you can buy, and your war machine is only good when you can get kills while not having them all taken by your team-mates. However, against tanks you can do unholy amounts of DPS.

Thanks for the heads-up! I was using a Half Zatoichi at the time; in hindsight I'm not sure why. I imagine stickybomb launcher reloads should be a first.
I remember mentioning something in the L4D2 thread about how playing in tougher difficulty settings would stave off noobs and kids. Not the case in MvM; not in the slightest. I got pummeled in an Advanced mission. I was a scout, there was an engi, a heavy... and two medics. Two kids had a mic, it didn't end well. I think I'll stop playing MvM for a while. T'is a silly place.
Moving onto PvP, wrangler engis are jerks. I was playing A/D on the attacking side, and I thought it'd be hilarious if I used the Wrangler. The setup proved more useful than I predicted. Scouts were dying left and right. Suddenly more snipers, demos, and soldiers were hanging around on the enemy team. For some reason I was pulling into a positive kill spread, and before I knew it we lost. The only thing more useful than a 4-spy team on KotH is a 5-sniper offensive on A/D. :b

Going back to MvM for a bit, STAR_ made a video about this a long while ago.
He believed the major reason MvM has a scarce population is because there's no replay value to this mode, and goes on to propose an endless variant of the gametype. I wonder if people would go for that. The thing about endless gametypes are that they're either boring (CoD zombies) or too short-lived (L4D survival mode).
