FYI: To make it easier to work with other groups/clans that are friends of us, I created an Alliance called "The Alliance of Legends". DenK group is now part of the Alliance. If you go to our group's home page, you'll see "Alliance: The Alliance of Legends" on the left upper corner, and "Alliance Nav: The Alliance of Legends" on the right upper corner. You can click the nav to see and visit the other groups/clans in the alliance. My first attempt of getting HSV1 into this Alliance is set back by a technical issue. Should be resolved soon enough.

I'm thinking of putting a policy in place that no one gets invited to apply to the clan unless we've played with them regularly for a week. Had too many issues in Ghosts due to willy-nilly invites (including having to ban a player), and I can start to see the beginnings of this again in Destiny.

Ok, question: now that Witty has HSV1 rolling in Destiny, who's the DenK clan lead Xbox-side?

Ok, question: now that Witty has HSV1 rolling in Destiny, who's the DenK clan lead Xbox-side? I can do both. One player can be in as many groups as he wants, although he can only set one as clan. At the present moment there is very little difference between group member and clan member. (Only difference I can see is in-game display). HSV1 side have strong leadership with iw5000 serving as clan leader for years, plus several other bros as admins. I am mainly an ordinary member that offering my 2 cents advice from time to time I do prefer to wear HSV1 clan tag in game though, since I have been doing that in CoD for several years. But if somebody else wants to step up, that's fine with me too. I nominate Dumien since he is well positioned at the frontier of the player population and is probably one of the most knowledgable bros about the game

I would be honored to be XB1 clan leader if you would have me. My boy Croft offered to step up and assist with Raid leadership if you guys would like (if leader/raid leader needs to be seperate). He has extensive experience in the way of the grind and his Diablo 3 clan KPB is ranked #1 on Xbox.

As discussed in the "Raid organization" thread: feel free to nominate or self nominate Raid leaders, especially for helping inexperienced bros to become more experienced. As for how to communicate: IMHO Bungie.net's messaging system is decent. Post a message of time & level requirement on the group wall and go from there might be the fastest way to get a team together.

I think the two groups should work together. HSV1 and DensForum. The two groups are very intertwined with each other as it is (my three year anniversary is in a month) People are already on both boards and freely mixing in the groups. We had a number of people from here help out in HSV1 and be part of things. Dozens? Maybe more? I wish we could get more.
Synergy can be a huge plus in gaming, especially when you start getting into the more organized competitive aspects.

Especially when you consider our Xbox side has less than half the members side of our PS4 side (though, some members STILL need to do the "Set as PS4/Xbox Clan").

Yup, so far we've taken Saggy, aroc (seasoned now), and Brown (seasoned now) through. I'm working on networking atm. This week alone we have raided EVERY DAY at least once. That is fantastic imo and I'm really proud to be a part of this group (alliance). I'm also probably going to invite my main crew into the DenK group since the core 4 (Ice, Croft, Raider, and I) consistently Raid together. I'm also going to be making a post that I'm going to require new recruits to read before they even attempt a raid. "I don't know what to do" isn't good...especially when you have been told exactly what to do. We usually put the raid newbies on defense duty and give them the simpler jobs (Defend this. Follow that guy). After a while you might be moved into different roles depending on who is online. We might need a relic guy. We might need a guy to kill one of the two gatekeepers. But you have to understand all that is involved before you even try that. In a sense, putting people on defense is giving them a huge responsibility and gets them ready for the whole raid attitude. You fail? Everyone dies.

As I already mentioned in another thread, "The Alliance of Legends" has been forged and so far DenK and HSV1 are part of the alliance. There are a few more clans/groups that may join the Alliance in the near future. At this point this Alliance is not much more than a formality. I am trying to figure out how to make inter-group communications within the alliance more effectively.

I am trying to figure out how to make inter-group communications within the alliance more effectively. Did some light research on this and now I have a proposal for better communication (which is a little bit more complex than I would like, more details later). In order to explain it better, let me define some terminology first: "Alliance-Group": the group that represents the Alliance. In our case, it is "The Alliance of Legends"; "Clan-Group": the clan-focused groups under the Alliance. In our case, both HSV1 and DenK are clan-Groups. Communication proposal: 1) The best way for inter-group communication is to use the "Group Wall" of the Alliance Group, where "interested members" (more on this in a moment) from all Clan-Groups can read and post messages; 2) Members who are interested in inter-clan communication should request to join the Alliance-Group. This is how he/she can read and post messages on Alliance-Group's wall; 3) Since a player can join as many groups as he/she wants, it is totally fine for him/her to be in both the Alliance-Group and Clan-Group. For example, I am currently a member of a) the Alliance-Group, b) HSV1, c) DenK; 4) A player can only set one group as clan. Alliance-Group will have the "set as clan" feature disabled so nobody can set it as clan. Players should set one of the Clan-Group as their clan. For example: I am currently setting HSV1 as my clan; 5) Members who are not interested in inter-group communication don't need to join the Alliance-Group. It's a personal choice. For example, at this moment there is no incentive for PS4 bros to join the Alliance-Group since the only other clan in the Alliance, HSV1, is XBL only; What do you guys think? Should we start with this and see how it goes?

I'm in. Requested to join the alliance group. I won't be playing Destiny on XB, but I was primarily a 360 gamer over the last gen and still curious to keep informed what's generally up on that side as well. (It's probably a good thing I don't have an XBONE or I'd likely have to get another copy of Destiny and run 6 characters... O,o Lord I don't have time for the three I've got! heh)

Update: "The Alliance of Legends" are now open for "request to join". I also sent out invitations to a few key members of both DenK and HSV1 who I think will be very interested in inter-group playing.
With tools in place, the next order of business is to establish some simple protocols for bros to find each other better. I propose the following:

Sorry, that's the only thing I'm quick at. So do the HSV1 Bros play more PvP? My impression is that we have a few who play PvP more than the average (translation: they still play PvP voluntarily after the "necessary" amount required by the weekly grinding ), and we have a few more players who would like to (me included) once we have the time. It's safe to say that most (if not all) of these players are fond of Halo.

I've been talking to their leaders for months now, know them pretty well. And their reputation is top notch. We've all seen what they can do in CoD (19th in the world) Just don't know if they have gotten going in Destiny.

I want to do more Crucible, but just haven't had the time. When I play it on my own I just get frustrated, but then I'm playing solo, and don't know the maps, and have little experience with it, and I'm also usually playing really late. It's not so much that I can't hold my own in a strait up fight, it's just hard to get to a strait up fight or even to get back with my team. Seems like the game likes to spawn me on the opposite end of the map from my teammates and while the enemy team sticks together in packs of at least 3 and gank me. ;3 Of course, this is mostly just perception. It's not something I should be playing solo late at night. I need to play at peak times, or with friends, or both. I just really want to be rid of the three Crucible bounties I have but I'm too stubborn to giveup on them. heh
Oh well.

It's just an alliance here. Trying to get people together to have some fun, and play Destiny together. What's the harm?

I had to kick a member tonight for an ongoing attitude problem and boosting in free-for-all. He was new as of the past week and while very capable as a player, this was not behavior that I was going to tolerate. The shame is he was on occasion incredibly helpful and giving with his time. He'll also be missed on out raid team, but it had to be done.
