Been hearing a lot of good things about this game. I know I initially wasn't all that intrigued by it; mostly because I assumed it would be PC only, but I'd definitely give it a play on the Xbox One. I hope that the game's cinematic trailer somehow leads to cinematic film-based story telling for this game's universe because I know it won't have a single-player campaign to tell its (and in-turn the character's) story/stories. Blizzard is planning on releasing some character based shorts which hopefully should fill in some of the story. I don't think it'll actually progress the story but it doesn't seem that the gameplay makes much sense "lorewise' anyways

seems like he's more of a gunslinger engi if anything. I approve of the direction they want to take him anyway, hard turtling abilties/mechanics suck
ill bite - how shit is reaper. he's an overly edgy Foxtrot but i want to play him cause shotguns and mindlessly killing stuff are fun
- ult mechanics being time + dmg dealt-based. i know you've personally disliked the concepts of big ults in a shooter but what are uptimes like right now? too spammy and frequently up or are cooldowns around where you want them to be?
- mercy still mandatory?
- support role: too babysitty and sacrificial, or can they be playmakers given the right scenario?
- windowmaker still an imba shit?
- oh and the visual clutter. better? ui still seems intrusive

I dunno; I guess Overwatch is 50 times better on console where the peasants don't really have good FPS. What do they got? Call of Duty? Destiny? LA Noire? Not a huge selection. It's certianly not TF2; they don't have that. You ever watch gameplay of console TF2? I got the heebie jeebies out of it; were the controller any less fit for twitchy CQC and precise aiming at range World Vision would be covering the dip in quality of life. You gotta throw in Winston's aim-assist BS because otherwise the poor saps will be struggling to shoot the broad side of a barn. They found the fire button amidst the dozens of non-custom key bindings recited from memory, let's not push them too far.

thats reddit in a nutshell tho
in fact if i posted that sentence in nearly any gaming subreddit id get an instant 50 upvotes because it contains "in a nutshell"
also i still get the feeling playing support is going to be the worst fucking thing with how passive all of the skills seem to be

I said this back during the weekend beta test I got into months ago, they need to decide if this game is going to be competitive or casual. It doesn't seem like they know yet.
No scoreboard, simplified mechanics, etc. All seem to indicate casual.
No minimap, huge importance placed on team composition and teamwork, etc. All indicate competitive.
There really should be a decision made. It just leaves the game lacking in both respects if it isn't. A minimap would probably be a great addition. It helps solo and casual play at the cost of some screen space. A scoreboard should exist. Even Heroes of the Storm decided to add one back in after launching without showing kills/deaths/assists on the scoreboard.

Gross, I forgot that was a thing. Every PC game has console-itis now. The few auto-aim attacks in the game aren't that bad on PC, but the other stuff bothers me like the fuckhuge viewmodels and enormous UI elements.

It would seem Overwatch's developers are prepping for the flash in the pan- as is the nature of the console market. The game releases, and who plays? Seasoned gamers who like playing a lot of games; people who don't even play FPS much. Youtubers and streamers. Casuals and experts. People who just came off of another major FPS released several months ago. People who came just to play that "'Ere comes the cav'lry!" girl. Every popular game in this era has been a game for many kinds of people, and Blizzard is setting up for everyone who wants to sink in that $40 upfront investment first.
Give it a month or two, and the flash dies off. You can make content at this point but it'll only do much for your player retention. All the seasonal gamers would have moved on at this point, and now you have people who are more likely to know what they're talking about. There will even be rudimentary balance changes and most bugs will be fixed; which makes it the perfect time to start making Overwatch into a serious eSport. This is where Overwatch and Titanfall could differentiate- this is where you cater to the eSports crowd.
Now, most huge eSports out there have taken a LONG time to refine themselves into proper eSports material. Overwatch doesn't have its own reputation; it has the reputation of Blizzard behind it. Every big eSport from Quake (20 years) to World of Tanks (5 years) has a long history; years of trial and error to refine themselves into what they are now. Overwatch isn't even technically released yet; nobody knows what Overwatch will look like two years from now.

Well if it released like it is now it would flop as every console kid cries how overpowered Torbjorn is.

The incredible irony in that post (in the first link) is that it establishes a latent and grossly sexist assumption: female sexuality is a form of weakness. The term "regressive left" is too apt.

The idea of a booru is to store millions of works of fan art following a given theme on a single database. Image censorship ratings on boorus follow a fairly consistent guideline, although there are several variations based on the community. The idea is to have the community rate the images, tag them for easy sorting, and give credit where possible. There's usually three tiers of censorship rating only admins give out- safe, questionable, and explicit. That image of tracer would be rated Safe on pretty much any booru if it was fan art:
-Simply wearing tight pants is not enough to warrant questionable attire. -If undergarments, nipples, or genitals are visible through the clothes it's no longer safe- not the case here. -If Tracer was wearing nothing but panties (or the equivalent coverage) it would immediately be questionable. -If she was showing off cleavage it would be questionable. -If the image zoomed in on Tracer's butt it would be questionable, since that would be the focus of the frame. It's not- it's just there.
-If an admin were to judge this image based on pose it would still be Safe. If Tracer was bending over, turned her torso around to show off her sideboob, had hands on her hips in a certain way, had bedroom eyes, a face that can only be made during sex, or anything to give that gives sexual context to this image it would be a red flag. Otherwise there's nothing to imply that this is sexy. It's safe.
And Mouse is right; Widowmaker's costume and poses would sooner throw her into questionable territory. Her theme is giving bedroom eyes ALL the time, and she can be very charming and ladylike when she isn't posing to kill someone. It's almost like Widowmaker is accurately themed around being a widowmaker.

"It just reduces tracer to another bland female sex symbol" "This pose says to the player base, oh we've got all these cool diverse characters, but at any moment we are willing to reduce them to sex symbols to help boost our investment game" Funny enough they're apparently totally okay with Widowmaker. So a character who revolves around sexuality, okay. A character who remotely just shows their butt and the world comes to an end. Kill me please. Also this And this

Are we just going to overlook the fact that Soldier 76's booty pose is 3 times more expensive as McCree's?
