That roll - just good enough that everyone has a near god-tier roll of the best weapon archetype, but no high caliber so those like myself that had their spirit broken long ago will keep grinding. Get yours and enjoy it now, before the complaints get it nerfed. Regrets to everyone that spent a long time grinding their god-roll Grasp.

Had one drop with Hammer Forged/Hand Laid Stock, Armor Piercing/Casket Mag, and Hidden Hand/Outlaw. Pretty spiffy.

Funny thing is that only a small amount of nerfs seem to have actually worked. I remember seeing all the complaints on r/DTG about snipers not receiving enough flinch when they are getting damaged in PvP, and this change made more of an impact for encounters in PvE than PvP. I think people will still grind for a top tier roll but they will make a cut-off before stopping if the drops don't provide the roll required, especially with how Hopscotch Pilgrim was nerfed (apparently it was awesome before its nerf).

I got my good Clever Dragon from a bounty last month...though I guess I could go for another good one for backup.
I'm interested in the machine gun, could use an arc one (might grind to get the vendor version).

BTW... how are the drops? If I'm entering at 397, will it be raining 400's?

Oh... one other question....
One of my characters has left over medals of iron that didn't get cashed in from last IB... when I win my game with them, will I get rep from those or a just a peck on the cheek?

No idea. Haven't played yet, just know the medallions carry over from people I play the raid with. Judging from Reddit, the drops appear to be pretty decent though. Got my Hunter to 399, so now I am debating whether to use Skeleton Keys for a helmet and/or heavy to get those to 400. Only my Sleeper Simulant is 400, other heavies are 394-399. I only have six of those things left.

The drops are fairly frequent; I'm not sure if it's guaranteed but it feels like 3 players on the winning team will get a legendary drop, while less but still some on the losing team. I haven't hit rank 5 and I've received ~8 legendary drops, not including the bounty rewards.
Wings, if you can't do the raid (which gives you I think 3 chances to get the helmet this week) then I would say go ahead and use a key for a helmet. There are less potential places you can get a helmet to drop than a heavy. You'll also find that you will run out of heavy weapons you actually use to infuse up to 400 fairly quickly. Plus, once you have one character up to 400, the guaranteed 400 drops get your other characters up to level almost instantly.

Yeah I used a Skeleton Key after posting that and I got a 400 helmet from SABRE, which I was after. I know Blighted Chalice has the helmet for an exclusive drop, but I was fine with a heavy dropping at 400 as I have to worry less about weapon swapping towards the end of activities for loot. I will play some Iron Banner tomorrow and no doubt I'll forget to swap out my Sleeper Simulant for one match. I wanted to keep Skeleton Keys for when the Taken Winter's Run shows up as I believe running it from the Director gives the original version, and Does Not Bow drops instead of the shotgun apparently. Chances are I'll get a few Skeleton Keys back before then. I completed the heroic raid on Tuesday. Did Vosik first time of asking then wiped twice at the Siege Engine because reasons.

For skeleton keys, run the 320 siva strikes. For the RoI book, I did mine and they dropped.... every other one

For the RoI book, I did mine and they dropped.... every other one Oh I've done a bucket load of them a while back, just don't know how many more I will get as a few people on Reddit are saying the drop rate for them is too low. I don't usually do Crucible on the weekends outside of Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris (only if I've won a raffle with Ninja and/or Lupo and that would be a Friday or Monday anyway), so I can always spend a few hours then grinding 320 SIVA strikes anyway.

Got to 400 earlier by playing 320 Cerberus Vae III from the Director. Didn't had to worry about AFKers since I solo'd the whole strike, which hasn't happened to me for a long time if ever. It is a nice roll so I will keep it and then seek other 400 primaries for infusion. The roll is Red Dot-ORS, Crowd Control, Field Scout, and Army of One.
Edit: Got 400 helmets, gauntlets and class items for my Warlock and Titan so now they just need chest and boots, which I will get later on when I start Iron Banner. Lucked out in quitting out of SIVA strikes until I got Blighted Chalice, on the second attempt and a Skeleton Key dropped. And then I got the Sunless Cell a few attempts later, which gave me a second helmet. If Blighted Chalice and the Takenified Winter's Run were from the Director, I would just go that route. :/

Did 2 games of IB with Brad and Commander... got a 399 clever dragon with braced frame, HCRounds, and headseeker. Used it the next game and had fun with it.
Hawk invited me and Brad (Commander left) to do the hardmode raid. First part of it... seemed to go well. I didn't die that much and we seemed to progress well, despite the fact that Brad and I had little to no clue what was going on plus I don't think we had too many wipes. Once we got to Aksis, things sorta went sideways. I took a piss, came back and Hawk was afk, Brad took off, and I had little to no idea how to do because I think missed the explanation, and the rest of the group just wanted to get it done. I found the end boss mechanics very hard. Plus, we were doing challenge mode on top of the fact that I was pretty much challenged the entire raid not knowing what to do. I'm gonna have to do some more research... people were switching all over the place and having to slam him at the same time. I also kept jumping to my death, because I didn't know you could cut through the middle and land on the floor there. I sorta had my DGAF moment when I died on the left, yet the rest of the group was able complete the part without me. I left without finishing aksis part 2... if they did do it, I'm sure the group was able to get the HM CM done probably in 1 or 2 runs because I wasn't there not holding them back
It also seemed to me that I was the only one who didn't get any raid armour pieces... that I sorta found depressing. I guess some of the stuff I got was good but it just seemed to rain legendary engrams instead of raid gear. I dunno if WotM HM drops more weapons than armour... but I don't think I've ever done raid where I've reached the boss and got no raid armour, even if it was a $hitty roll.
After I do IB, I might spend some time doing normal mode WotM to learn the mechanics and all the switching. Personally speaking, the Aksis fight doesn't seem to be that difficult once you get to know the mechanics, but getting to know the mechanics is going to be interesting for me. I dunno why, but I just wasn't getting it.
So, all in all, a learning experience and I got some decent gear, but I just wish I wasn't holding the group back. I despise being a liability in Destiny... unless it's PVP ;>

Congrats! Make sure to do IB on your Hunter first, you should get the drops you need to infuse one if not both of your other characters to 400. Thanks. This is my plan. I've been concentrating on my Hunter recently since she's the highest light. Once my Titan and Warlock are 400, I can finish off the Shaxx bounties they still have. Basically anything that that Shaxx gives me will be infusion (handy to save on the Skeleton Keys) unless I get a Matador that beats my current one at 400, which means it will need Aggressive Ballistics, Rangefinder, and Reinforced/Rifled Barrel. Those odds will be small. It also seemed to me that I was the only one who didn't get any raid armour pieces... that I sorta found depressing. That appears to be the experience of a lot of people. While people will state "RNG is RNG", it wouldn't surprise me if raid armour pieces are less likely to drop than the weapons given the perks on the armour. The gauntlets are such a boon that heavy ammo bricks drop on Taken Fallen and the Bouncing Betty in Prison/Challenge of Elders. It took me a fair while to get the helmet from NM. Even if I had all of the armour and weapons that I want from it, I'd still run it since I find it fun. Plus, I've not attempted the Vosik challenge and only briefly tried the challenge for Aksis so there's that.

Yea... I was kinda hoping for those gauntlets.
I did check again, and somehow, I missed that I got a 400 voidfang vestment... so that was at least nice

Having watched a stream to see what the drops are like and how good the Clever Dragon is, I'd say you should keep that roll. Wondering how long it is for people to get salty over increased flinch mechanics, despite wanting snipers to get this treatment. "Paper is OP, but scissors are fine" - Stone. Looks like nearly every match half of the Fireteam gets drops, with the Ghost counted as an extra drop.

Drops seem pretty balanced between weapons and armor in my experience, I think you just had bad luck. With the fragments you have, next run you should be able to open some chests to have more drops if you don't get armor in the initial drops.
We did not complete it last night. I wasn't your fault. I had a go at it earlier today with another group and it was just banging our heads against a wall again. It's annoying, it should not be so difficult - I don't know if it just requires extraordinarily precise timing or what.

Seemed to me that part requires precise choreography. Does it really help to wear the raid armor? The perks for each piece are so raid-specific...
