So now that you guys have had a couple months on it, what do you think? Is there a reason to replay the content over and over? If I could round up say a 3 man group to play is it going to be pretty fun, is AI teammate gonna drive us nuts?
It varies.... I haven't played any other TClancy games, so I can't speak to how it compares to others and how they feel. I know that a lot of people were expecting this tactical shooter where you crawl up and stealth and be some sorta of ghille suited ninja with a big sniper rifle... this game is not that. You can snipe from a far, you can go in guns blazing, or both... you can drive in with a car, truck, tank, chopper, boat, tractor, whatever. So it's a game that incorporates a lot of play styles.
As for replay value, I'm not sure yet as I'm still working on trying to platinum the main part of the game before I finish it. I dunno if the game ends and you have to make a new character if you kill the boss or not. I know that there are two endings though.
If you're the type of person who likes rushing through and powering through the content as fast as possible, you'll be bored of it pretty quick. Because it's pretty easy to get to the final boss, you can pick and choose how you want to kill him. I do like that the map is so open and that you can get weapons before even doing levels.
Everything is done in terms of teams of 4... but as soon as you enter matchmaking, you lose those 3 AI teammates, so you'd be a team of 3 or 4 with a random matchmade player. People trash the AI but I don't know why... there have been some missions that were f%%king dumb to do because the humans I was playing with, kept missing shots or effing up, but because the AI never misses their sniper shots, there were a good number of missions that I would have no idea how do to without the AI and their sync shots.
It also depends on how you want to play too, in terms of your HUD... you can make that aspect of your game as easy or as difficult as you wish.
While reddit absolutely despises that you have to make a new character for the DLC's, I actually like that they did it this way; rather than incorporate the DLC into the main game and create a power creep that if you don't have the DLC, you can't do the cool new $hit (ie: destiny) they created them as if they are separate from the main story line... so if a DLC sucks (the 1st one, Narco Road, was more of a neon coloured driving game and pretty much universally despised... but Fallen Ghosts is looking to be pretty cool) it's not going to make the main game suck, just that 3/4 province mini game.
PVP is coming out soon, how that is going to work is anyone's guess. So far, UBI hasn't been to communicative with the player base about what to expect... that being said, we've had 3 or 4 big patches that did a fantastic job of making QoL and buggyness go away and it was directly related to what the community wanted.
If you're on PS4, hook up with me and Brad and you can join our taskforce to at least get camos, weapons, and of course, high class, 100% clean Bolivian male prostitutes and Peruvian cocaine
