Since some maps are vehicle heavy (Port Valdez, Africa Harbour, Isla Inocentes), I want to know which is the best way to take down the vehicles. I know anti tank mines destroys tanks in one.
However, I was wondering which rocket launcher is the best to use?
If there are multipliers on the tanks (i.e. hitting the rear of the tank does x amount more damage)?
Do hand grenades or 40mm grenades do damage against the vehicles?
Do any of the standard weapons like the LMG's or sniper rifles do damage against the tanks, car or helicopters?
Is explosive 2 (The spec 2 option) useful to use against tanks.
Thanks

Would help if someone could advise the damage of C4 per device. Ie is it worth placing all three on the rear of a Bradley to blow it up or would 1 do, but 3 needed if you (as a rare case) place it on the front armour.

No experience with AT mines, but for C4, 2 is generally a safe bet. You will destroy any tank with 2, though some stuff might take one...Crates take about 10 C4 I think? Very effective to blow crates up with another assault player after ninja dropping from a helicopter.
God I wish I could help with the multiplier thing but all I know is that tanks do take more dmg from the back. Grenade launchers also do dmg which is usually around 10 or so?

Grenade Launcher damage against tanks seems incredibly unreliable. Even direct (no deflection) shots into the rear of a tank with a 40mm doesn't always generate damage, and I've never seen a tank get finished off by one. I know they can hurt them, but I also know they don't do it very well.
C4 is by far the best way to take out a tank, though the inherent risks are obvious.
I haven't found a counter to turtling tanks, so much so that we're adopting that strategy as a squad (I play with 8 friends). A medic driver with the Vehicle Armor upgrade and an Engineer are nearly unstoppable. We just sit half in cover, just cresting the top of a hill, and rain main cannon fire down onto the treeline/buildings/M-ComStation, retreating back behind the hill for repairs every mortar strike/RPG hit. Almost every game we employ this we get 1st and 2nd place in the game, and all but once we finish the game with the same tank we started with. 100%, the only risk we really face are double mortar strikes (Can't reverse in time) and Recon/Assault players who manage to sneak right up with C4, which is... vastly easier said than done. Tanks may do joke damage to infantry in this patch, but they're gosh darn golly gee whiz hard to take out.
Oh, TOW launchers are good, but double them up with an RPG. And then RUN, because I can only speak for our cheesy little squad, but we blow the crap out of all the TOW emplacements as we learn where they are on each map.
This is a really long-winded way of saying that I can't figure out a way to properly take out a sufficiently cowardly tank with support, so if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
Edit: Don't try to take them out with an apache or pave low. Blackhawk? Whatever, don't try to take out the tank with a helicopter. Unless you can get the tank in one pass, you're almost guaranteed to get shot down trying.

The RPG-7 is an 85mm warhead and the Carl Gustaf is an 84mm, but I don't know if the damage is different. Some people have reported the RPG-7 as slower but that's unverified.
Hitting the back does a lot more damage than hitting the front of a tank and I believe the side is somewhere in the middle.
Hand grenades do barely any damage to tanks. 40mm did a lot of damage to a Blackhawk the one time I managed it, put it at dark smoke.
None of the assault rifles or LMGs do damage to tanks or choppers. The mounted machine guns and M95 sniper rifle damage choppers. All guns damage Jet-skis and ATVs and the quote below implies that only mounted MGs and the M95 can damage Humvees and armored cars.

turtling tanks aren't difficult. Get a couple engineers and you're set. I run my engineer with tracer darts ALWAYS.

PC Beta information from Stinger911 on the Steam Forums
Carl Gustav vs Bradley Front: 5 hits Side: 3 hits Rear: 3 hits
RPG vs Bradley Front: 4 hits Side: 2 hits Rear: 2 hits
Carl Gustav vs Anti-Air Front: 5 hits Side: 4 hits Rear: 3 hits
RPG vs Anti-Air Front: 4 hits Side: 2 hits Rear: 2 Hits
Carl Gustav vs Bangbus Front: 1 hit Side: 1 hit Rear: 1 hit
RPG vs Bangbus Front:1 hit Side: 1 hit Rear: 1 hit
Carl Gustav vs Main Battle Tank Front: 5 hits Side: 3 hits Rear: 3 hits
RPG vs Main Battle Tank Front: 4 hits Side: 2 hits Rear: 2 Hits
They're roughly accurate on the Xbox. I'm confident it takes 2 RPGs from the rear for the MBTs and APCs but from experience I think it's 3 not 2 from the side.

Mines are not a one-hit kill, I'm pretty sure.
In a full health T90 I stopped when I saw it and was content just waiting there for the enemy hummer to come in. I shot at the hummer and like an idiot tried to pursue it... rolling a tread over the mine. It took me down to about 25% but didn't kill me. I was surprised.

mines will take out a ATV correct? also is there any delay in their explosion or is it instant? is it possible to shoot one and have it explode?
obviously i have minimal experience with them

ATVs will set them off, it's pretty much instant once the vehicle is directly over the mine, you can shoot them and the explosion will do the same damage as it normally would.

I didn't want to start a new topic so might as well add to this one.
I've lost count of the number of times I've been able to aim at a tank or bradley from above. Is there anything in the code that indicates whether there is topside armour? Or is it simply classified as front, sides and rear?

That is either interesting or rather poor depending on your perspective. I would have thought that if you are either stupid enough to drive past an elevated position in a tank or good enough to be in an elevated position to tackle a tank you should receive some form of multiplier for the damage beyond the rear and sides. Although I guess this could play havoc with heli and mortar strike damage.
Thanks Den.

explosive upgrade + back shot is a one hit kill with the at4 on all tanks. Very useful.

I find that the best way to deal with cowardly tank driver combos is to ignore them and keep your distance. They typically have to say back far enough on their hill or whatever to be little help for their team when it comes to mcom stations... This effectively gimps the attacking team making them play 2 men down. Its like a self-imposed power play in hockey.
If they get tired of killing the same enemy over and over again, or realize that their team is losing they will eventually come out to play... now you can kill them any way you want (c4s are certainly much easier when tanks get in close quarters).

i would oppose that oppinion. i have observed skilled operators of the apc on rush where they were well out of range for destruction by rpg (at least for a bunch of random people as we were, two or three coordinated engineers would probably be able to) but still were able to make it pretty easy for their teammates to aproach the mcoms, for every defender that reared his head got imediately blown into smithereens...

explosive upgrade + back shot is a one hit kill with the at4 on all tanks. Very useful. Not at all. AT4 does 420 DMG, then times 1.25 for +Explosive damage is 525. 525 times 2 to the back of the tank is 1050 of a tanks' 1250 health.
