The AUG seemed like it always fired faster than 700 RPM. I decided to test it out by comparing it to the XM8 with my friend. The AUG and XM8 had nearly the same time, but AUG was slightly faster. We tested this 6 times in total, with AUG winning each time. We even switched the roles so I fired the XM8, but the AUG still won out. Maybe the AUG does 800 or 775 or 750 RPM.

Could you detail your test? Was this local?

Well, we pretty much just waited for a ton of people to leave the server, and since I and my friend live in Qatar (middle east), the times are very screwed up so when it's morning for us, almost no on is online everywhere else. We emptied a mag into a wall around 6 times. This is on xbox 360
On PC, we set up a LAN server and did the same thing, but the AUG seemed like it didn't fire as fast as the X360 version,

This would be pretty big news if true.
But that would make the Aug absurdly powerful in CQC. It would relegate the F2000 to the back of the pack..
But I don't know how Den's numbers could be that off. He pulls em' right from the game.

But I don't know how Den's numbers could be that off. He pulls em' right from the game. It's possible that it's slightly different on the xbox 360, maybe something unmentioned in the patch or a slight numerical difference in the console version's coding, much like how the MP40 in the console version of WaW had a max damage of 50 as opposed to the PC version's max damage of 40.

Well if this is true it would actually give the AUG a purpose

50 RPM is actually not very noticeable. It could have been lag. Someone actually said that you will only notice a difference in RPM if it is greater than 100.
