I thought it auto-spots people and a lot of people say that. But I don't think it does. If it does, it's not very effective and rarely auto-spots.
What I think it does do is at least some of the following: -Allows you to spot more people at once -Widens the hit radius of spotting -Makes people spotted stay for longer
Specific info would be great, though.

It does work, it even spots things you couldn't technically see because of foliage. It spots up to a certain distance, it does not spot as far as you can manually spot though.

It does spot up to 75 m, but this is a very short distance in terms of sniping.

It does spot up to 75 m, but this is a very short distance in terms of sniping. this is probably the problem, but I have no clue what 75m is as a reference if anyone wants to go deeper you can tracer-dart a vehicle and lock-on, and read the range display

It does spot up to 75 m, but this is a very short distance in terms of sniping. Oh please it lets you see people in bushes without even pressing a button, I think it's powerful enough.

it gives you spot unlimited times manually at any range, and auto spot at 75m or closer.
