Uploaded with ImageShack.us Damage is displayed for one bullet hitting a target at either near or far distance. See Den's Chart for details on specifics about the ranges. Magnum is the specialization that adds a 25% boost in damage. Shots to Kill is the number of bullets needed to hit either the enemy's body to kill. Ceramic Body Armor multiplies player health by 1.25. If you are using Magnum Ammo against a Ceramic Body Armor player, look at the Normal columns for Shots to Kill and Time to Kill. Time to Kill is in seconds and is the amount of time it would take all the required shots to kill to be fired into the target. The lower the better.
Charts updated to Den's stats as of 6/30/2010.

The Semi Auto Snipers and USAS and SAIGA should get the boost, according to my sources.
I'll fix that in a bit...

When did the M16 get a bump in damage to be in line with the AUG, XM8 and M416?

And done: M16 and friends got adjusted at release. Before the release and around it Den had up the stats from the BETA.

According to Den's charts, they do 31 at distance...
31 * 1.25 * 1.25 = 48.4375
That 31 multiplied by a 1.25 body multiplier and 1.25 for Magnum isn't over 50 so 3 shots.

Also are we sure about the pistols getting x1.25 on consoles? Den mentions automatics only?
Great chart BTW

See the top of Den's BF2 Page:
They all are 2.1x headshot multipliers so...

See the top of Den's BF2 Page: They all are 2.1x headshot multipliers so... Not so fast! Testing by snakex has confirmed suspicions that the Material "Protection Multiplier" of the bullet against Soldier Body is 1.25x. Going by the numbers of a 1.25x chart, those enhanced bullets would only have a relative 1.68x headshot multiplier.

So the multiplier for the body counts in the multiplier for the head then?

The damage increase is only for the body. The actual weapon damage is unchanged, so the headshot is still 2.1x, but that's based on the original damage.
If based on the damage after the update, the headshot is technically only 1.68x.

You all want to know a secret? You want to pick the weapon with the best time to kill, but be a pessimist about it. Go with the best time to kill far away on the body on someone with body armor. The exception is if you use magnum ammo. Then you want to go with the weapon that has the fastest time to kill far away "normal" on the chart because that is the worst case scenario since magnum ammo and body armor balance out.

PC still does not have "25%".

I can only say people can't aim if they need the 25% after having all unlocks.

Aim doesn't have anything to do with it
The game sucky hit registration and lag would benefit from 25% damage increase
It would reduce the insane amount of "WTF I should have killed him" moments

Aphoristic, could you check the USAS-12 again? I was playing with a friend earlier on regular (not hardcore) Conquest. We were on separate teams. I had the USAS-12 w/ slugs and magnum ammo.
I hit him twice (two hit markers) and then he killed me. The killcam said he had 3% health. He said he didn't take damage before that and he wasn't wearing body armor.
Doing 97% damage would seem to suggest that either magnum ammo doesn't work or the effect drops out at some point (because it does 48.8 damage w/o magnum ammo). I would guess the latter, because the USAS-12 was a 2-shot kill up close, but when I damaged my friend he was at fairly long range.

Many things could potentially slightly reduce damage, such as foliage. I want to say thank you to aphoristic for making these charts. I find them very useful, and I am sure that many other people do, too.
