My friend that plays pro mod on computer says that the only gun used is AK 47 and 74u.
He then also says in normal no mod everyone still uses the same guns.
Is this like this all the time on PC?
seems a bit unbalance on pro mod.

Idling was removed and (last time I looked) the AK74u was given a bunch of ridiculous location damage modifiers so that it behaves more like a 40-30 damage weapon than a 40-20 one. The 74 outdoes the 47 (and every other weapon) with those settings, there is no reason to use anything other than that. Not even the completely immobile sniper rifles.
With stock settings, the AK47 is the most popular weapon used, it is the overall best weapon for ending a fight quick at all but the most extreme range. The M4 with a silencer used to be (might still be) a popular hitter. Except for those two rifles, nothing else has the Time to Kill a Guy that the players rely on. Someone with a rapid-fire finger/macro appears every now and then with the G3 (also, the G3 is popular against 30 health players). P90 and MP5 probably see just as much, if not more use than the AK74u (depending on 30 or 100 health). The RPD is not uncommon for some maps, but it certaintly beats out the SAW and M60 by a large margin. The M40A3 and Barrett are seen a lot.
When it comes to the "higher" levels of competetive play, all players will use the winning formula - AKs for everyone! It boils down to who can point-and-shoot first. The higher in rank you go, the less diverse things become.
"Balance" is not in the vocabulary of ProMod, it substitutes it with the word "random".

The guy who made pro made was hired by treyarch to design cod5.

Without aim assist on PC, the M16 tend to miss a lot of it's 3 round burst (according to my experience). Fully automatic weapons tend to pose more threat than guns with inferior rate of fire.

The M16 has never been good. The only "over" it has is overuse. If a single shot from that burst misses, even the weakest of weapons could kill within that time gap between bursts. Aim assist really helps on that part, so for consoles, Aim Assist is overpowering the M16.
No wonder World at War sucks so much.

Aim Assist is a piece of shit. Why didn't they let us disable it?

The M16 is so horribly random sometimes its a one burst kill on a target that's a still speck in the distance other times, it can take up to 3 bursts on a still target that's closer when I go up against it, I lose CQB fights when I have an SMG or a shotgun from some doofus hipfiring WITHOUT Steady Aim... simply because it has a ridiculous ROF in that one burst it can dominate CQB I never understood why they didn't make the M16 do a constant 30 damage, and have tighter bullet grouping... I think it would solve the randomness of the weapon, and also the problem of it being considered overpowered on consoles

You all think aim-assist is poop till you get a chance to play on PC with a 360 controller, don't you?
