I think the single biggest flaw that exists in BFBC2 Rush mode at this point is the tiny reward of 30xp for defusing an armed MCOM station. Over several days played most of my friends have something along the lines of a 0.5 attacker win ratio and a 4.5 defender win ratio. In the last week, this has done nothing but nosedive for everybody, as nobody is wililng to die to try and protect the objectives anymore. The game no longer favours the defender much at all simply because setting a bomb results in the detonation of the site more than half the time.
I switched to BFBC2 from MW2 specifically because running around farming the highest possible KDR wasn't sustainably enjoyable as the exclusive objective, and BC2 seemed to offer a break from that. It's taken a very short amount of time for all but the most dedicated of squads to become so jaded that this game is becoming the same thing.
They need to massively increase the personal gain of defusing the site. And I mean massively. Unless you're running assault with 40mm smoke grenades, defusing an MCOMM at this point is nearly suicide, as you'll rarely see even a single random player within grenade throw range of the site while you try. It takes two and a half times as long to defuse a bomb as it does to arm it, yet yields the same reward, without the benefit of a possible 100xp gain after.
If there's any hope at all of Rush returning to it's origin as the place where objective-oriented players gravitate, they need to make it tempting for the average solo random player to defuse the bomb. 250xp? 300? I'm not sure how high they need to make it before it becomes challenging to push ahead on Rush again, but I can tell you for a fact that 30 is too low.

Isn't winning a match a measly 100xp too? Not a whole lot of incentive there.

i agree with the issue, but i don't think it's a way to solve it by increasing the rewards.
the nitwits that sit on their hills with the m24 (or sitting in a corner with the m60, whatever) farming an as high as possible k/d without achieving anything for the team would not touch an mcom if it gave them 30.000 points. idiots like that exist, and they think they are awesome by killing people and think they are teh bezts. they will always be there and not realize that they just kill so many because other people play the game how it's supposed to.
*sigh*
sorry for raging hatespeech^^

Yes there are a handful of selfish people playing a teamwork game.... and i would agree that the points for defusing or winning is rather low (hell, they dont even track w/l ratio) but i really disagree with how much of a problem it is.
Are you suggesting that people just stopped caring all of the sudden? I have played this game almost 4 days and the winning team is usually determined by which team is more skilled and works as a team.
And most of the time you have about 1/3rd of your team acting as d-bag snipers that are no use to your team... but they are on the other team too

I'd continue to put forward the claim that something has shifted, and recently. Again last night we were able to win almost every turn at Attacker, and struggled brutally to defend. I was half tempted to take screenshots to try and prove this, but even that would just be anecdotal. I've got my 5 days /played on my main name, as well as scattered other names, which is roughly representative of how long my squad has played the game, and the consensus is solid within the six of us. Something changed. We can still force the games momentum to shift with just three or four of us working in concert as a picked selection of classes, but we marked a few games where we were in fact the only people to ever actually disarm a bomb. EDIT: W4r, if you want to check your win/loss ratio, look yourself up on bfbcs.com/ and update it (it takes about 3-5 minutes to retrieve your records). It has win/loss ratio as a value as well as individual ones for attacker and defender.

Thanks for the link Chesire, now i know i have a 2.33 w/l ratio. 1.93 attacking and 2.88 defending. My K/d is only 1.3 so its nice to finally see my w/l ratio.
I play on 360, and a different platform means a different player base. I have not yet noticed such a trend but I think what could explain it is that the longer a game is released, the more casual players will buy it and start to play.
The casual players might be ones that are less inclined to work as a team to win and are more focused on their K/d ratio.

hmmm more supporting evidence: i hace 180 wins as attacker, but only 35 wins as defender..the toppic creator must have a point.
also i learned that my accuracy is 212 percent, so something might not go entirely smoothly with the calculations on the website^^

212%. Thats a crapload of tripple kills! Accuracy doesn't relate to kills, it relates to dealing damage with a projectile you fired, so that Carl G round you shot that hurt 5 people but didn't kill anyone is a 5:1 accuracy ratio.

Thanks for correcting me carnage. And by the way... "Accuracy doesn't relate to kills, it relates to dealing damage with a projectile you fired, so that Carl G round you shot that hurt 5 people but didn't kill anyone is a 5:1 accuracy ratio." Thats a run-on sentence.

I think that one accuracy stat at the top is wild. I've played 2 hours and updated my stats and had it go from 30% to 220%. The individual weapon stats all make sense to me, but that one I just do not understand.

Just to fully pull my own thread way off topic, yes, the accuracy stat has always been "special" on the site.
Edit: I found a solution to the problem. Conquest is fun!

Oh, sorry I wasn't more clear in my sarcasm. I'm playing Conquest now instead of Rush, where I don't feel so obligated to commit suicide regularly in the name of trying to win.

This can't happen soon enough. And based on the R8/R12 being a month late, it won't. But still amazing!
