I feel as if grenades in this game are heavier than in MW2.
I could be mistaken...
Also, in MW2, all the nades had the same mass according to my testing. (same arc)
Are all the nades in BO the same mass too? (throwing arc?)

My nademaster friend said the same thing. They just fall faster, they don't have "mass." There is no "physics" in "CoD."

someone turned the gravity values up.
it's slight but noticeable when you jump off buildings, you fall much faster.
but imrlybord7 is right in saying CoD has no real physics engine, the engine applies artificial gravity (downward pull, no acceleration) and that's about it.

Throwing them straight up no longer goes nearly as far forward, probably the reason for the change, actually.

flak jacket is probably the best perk on the game seeing that people spam nades like crazy and RC cars are popular... I couldnt tell you how many times on nuketown Ive done well because of this... flak jacket pro makes you pretty much unstoppable to explosions until you get stuck ofcourse

"Throwing them straight up no longer goes nearly as far forward, probably the reason for the change, actually. "
Couldn't that be due to less vertical view restriction?
off-topic: Lol... treyarch went crazy with green lights on equipment. looks cartoony. or something you'd see in halo.

May or may not be related to the new "throw like a girl" grenade toss, I notice but I've noticed that the grenade throw is slightly off-center, going upwards. I was next to a building trying to throw a grenade in an elevated window and the grenade would hit the wall above the window, despite where my crosshair was aiming. The same throw in MW2 would've made it in. Odd.

On the other hand, you can now throw C4 packs a lot further than in MW2

I was next to a building trying to throw a grenade in an elevated window and the grenade would hit the wall above the window, despite where my crosshair was aiming. The same throw in MW2 would've made it in. Odd. The difference between this frag and say the COD4 frag is that the COD4 frag used ProjectileSpeed (of 940) and ProjectileSpeedUp (of 120). Black Ops has ProjectileSpeed (of 900) and ProjectileSpeed RelativeUp (of 120). This is the first I've seen this variable, but just by the word and the way the grenade behaves in game... The COD4 frag has a static upwards force applied to it regardless of the angle the player was pointing; level to the game world. You can see this in the game - when you throw level to the ground, the grenade will arc up over the crosshair. As you aim upwards, the grenade will be closer and closer to the crosshair until you're throwing it straight up. When the player aimed upwards with the frag, the Projectile and Up Speed would have their powers combined which led to baseball all-star 60+ meter throws at a peak arc. - The Black Ops frag has an upwards force relative to the player's facing. When the player aims upwards, the RelativeUp follows that. As you can see, the grenade will always arc up over your crosshair, to the point that aiming straight up will make it fall behind you. Because of that, the projectile speeds aren't amplified - the frag in Black Ops is only capable of much shorter throws. Maybe 40 meters at best.

^Ok, so you get the same "lob" no matter where you are pointing your screen. neat.
And just to be clear, that applies to semtex as well? or no..?

Yep. Frag Semtex Smoke Gas Flash Stun Decoy
All use 900 Speed and 120 RelativeUp in their throw.
The Tomahawk though has 1500 speed and 40 (not Relative) Up.

It "feels" like concussion grenades don't throw as far or in the same arc as frags do, but I haven't tested it, and as Den just posted the stats say otherwise.

Wait, throwing frags straight up will have them fall behind you? I've done this and this is not what happened... it landed like 10 feet in front of me (as opposed to about 30 of previous games ... ). I'm not very good at judging distances, but it definitely did not fall behind me.
