... for a medic. With Body Armor.
EDIT: G3 - I perform 3-round-burst but full of misses. But when it does hit, its lethal.
PKM - I do single-round-tap @ 400 RPM with this baby. Much more accurate but takes a lot of hit marker to get a kill.

Don't really use either that much, but I'd go for the PKM. LMGs and medics are a nice fit, I wouldn't mess around with it if I didn't need to. I guess every now and then I'll put on a shotgun and lightweight, but that's only if I'm literally running from defib patient to defib patient, which probably isn't particularly radical for anyone involved. "All-Kit" weapons for me reads as 'assault, maybe recon' weapons. The other two classes have more defined/rigid roles and they already have guns that work well with them. G3, surely you'd be out of ammo in no time, meaning you'd have to go say hello to your assault all the time, meaning that 40mm kills you both instead of just him, meaning he has no one to revive him. And who's gonna shoot 150 bullets into that doorway just in case the bad man comes back? I've got much play out of the M249 recently, that is a mighty fine weapon. That and the MG36 and the M60 I'd take over the PKM. Don't really know the XM8 LMG yet, T88 is liquid garbage and the G3 I love/hate.

Is the M249 really that good? I find the iron sights pretty crappy.

PKM>SAW>G3 for medic

The G3 and USAS or Saiga Shotgun are better for going rambo medic with body armor fighting at short or medium range, the LMGs are better for surpressing fire and long range from stationary positions
Body armor and LMGs don't work for me

I like the G3 better. Close range is a beast, far range you just have to crouch in order to improve your accuracy a very very lot. I like the G3 so much that I use it on every single kit.

418y is crazy-talkin'. Just because it's an "all-kit" weapon doesn't mean you're supposed to actually USE it on "all-kits" lol But seriously, the 249 is beast-mode. I like the PKM a whole lot as well, and opt for that when I expect really long range combat or when I'm supporting a squad of Recons and Assaults. I have to use the red-dot with both, because I just loathe both irons... I used to be vehemently against using anything other than the "med-kit" specs on the medic, as that's what your there for after all... But while gold-star'ing all the guns (I saved the 249 for last because I thought it was garbage) I tried a red-dot on a whim and never looked back. As the ever-wise Mateo said, 200 rounds is a lot. The only other gun with a box of that size is the T88, (which Rax pointed out quite succinctly and accurately as "liquid garbage"... IMO the worst gun in the game) and with the T88's sloooooooow fire rate you can't suppress or kill a damn thing. Rax also beat me to the punch on the ammo thing... The G3 on a non-assault class isn't ideal because you're always going to have to look out for lunchboxes to resupply after your first kill or two. Besides, isn't the PKM only one less bullet-to-kill ? Maybe 2? Don't want to look right now, but it's the most powerful LMG along with the M60, and boasts a mag size FIVE TIMES larger than the G3. However, I will grant that the G3 with it's awesome irons and damage profile that doesn't require Magnum would let you run both med-kit specs, the importance of which cannot be overstated in a close match with a smallish frontline. TL;DR Choice is yours, but I would go with the M249 if I want to kill stuff and not reload... EVER, the PKM if I want to snipe (usually go with 4x and LMG MMN+), and the G3... Well, after just about every other LMG excepting the Terrible88. When I want to use both med-kit specs I roll with the XM8 or the MG36 since they don't require Red-Dots.

PKM: + 1 less bullet to kill - Lower RoF - 100 clip
M249: + High RoF + Less Spread + Giant 200 round clip + Faster Reload + Fastest TTK of all LMGs
Also - Sights on LMGs don't matter. Point them in the general vicinity and fire away.

M249 doesn't have less spread. 3 * (firetime) = spray recovered per shot spray added - spray recovered M249: (0.44) - (5*0.075) = 0.065 PKM: (0.5) - (5*0.0923) = 0.0385 However, I completely agree, I prefer the M249. It is just awesome at close range, and the 200 round mag is just overkill. I also quite like the iron sights. Although it is a relatively inaccurate LMG (compared to the others), it doesn't really matter at close range, and it is still more accurate on full auto than most other weapons in the game. I use the M249 on close range maps or during an assault, and the XM8/MG36 (depending on map) everywhere else.

Am I crazy to say that I LIKED the T88 when I unlocked it? And that I kept on destroying with it until I unlocked the XM8L? Am I crazy???

The T88 was one of the best LMGs before it got nerfed. Shame, that thing was fun to use. It was like a PKM with 200 rounds and better aesthetics.

I still like the T-88, since you can lay down fire forever. Other LMGs are better for serious work, of course.
The G3 is just a different class of gun, so I'm not sure it is a good idea to compare it to the rest of the medic weapons. I like it for very long-ranged play, but I think the LMGs are a bit better of a fit. Depends on how you play.

Am I crazy to say that I LIKED the T88 when I unlocked it? And that I kept on destroying with it until I unlocked the XM8L? Am I crazy??? depends on when you unlocked it. If you unlocked it after the nerf - you're crazy. If it was before, it was nearly a carbon copy of the PKM with a higher mag and was definitely the better weapon (imo). /on topic... G3 all the way!!!! I'm biased because I am a CQC whore and the G3 is disgusting in those situations. without magnum... PKM - 6 bullets to kill CQC, 7 at range 5, 6 G3 - 4 bullets to kill, 5 at range 4, 4 with mag... PKM - 5 CQC, 6 range G3 - 4 CQC, 4 range The ROF of the PKM is higher and the Spray added to Spread is better. But, because I can handle the G3 correctly, the higher damage wins most of my fights for me.

So do you crouch with the G3? I have a hard time remembering to crouch now because I used to be a drop-shotter in CoD and when I found out I couldn't do it in BC2 I did away w/ it entirely. Now I only crouch for cover purposes, since it makes such a tiny tiny effect on your spray/spread/recoil (can't remember which).
The G3 isn't anything special for me unless I crouch, but when I do crouch it's definitely awesome!

I definitely crouch for long range kills if I have the time. In most situation I only go for a long range kill when I have the time so that usually works out. In other situations I am mobile mobile mobile. I much prefer to tap fire as I strafe left-right when engaged in a CQC situation while running with the G3.

You don't need to crouch with the G3, because there are only 2 firing speeds.
Perfect Accuracy, the one I always use except in CQC, it slaughters
Unholy Abomination of Recoil and Spread, only recommended for CQC.

Mateo, I don't want to be mean, but it is not arguable that the G3 greatly benefits from crouching for mid-long firefights. You can do well without crouching, you can do better doing it. The G3, together with a few other weapons, greatly reduces his recoil when crouching while sighted. And with "greatly" I mean "with a better proportion than most rifles".

Speaking of crouching, can Den post a list of AMP reduction while sighted for all the weapons?
