played caspian with 3 buddies and with voice, was having a blast. you don't feel quite as useless anymore when you're an organized 4-man squad. and you don't have to respawn in the armpit of the universe as long as one of your squad buddies is still breathing.
it's astonishing how well a few people can do when they work together on this map. we four were basicly kicking the teeth in of every enemy formation we came in range of, just because of a little communication. (none of us are 1337-pro, we're all fairly normal skilled, at best).
on that note, is it just me or is tank armor in this battlefield made out of whipped cream and cardboard? they just blow up so preposterously easy..

Kath, I would think that the increased damage bug translates to vehicles too, since it's probably just a global damage modifier attached to movement. That being the case, vehicles would get destroyed quickly because they may have a "Damage Reduction" style modifier as opposed to just having gobs of health, meaning that they have less health but have an armor that reduces incoming damage to X. Basically you could say that "anything that does less than 100 damage doesn't get through", or that only specific types of damage would get through a la BC2. If damage were to get through that and get boosted by the bug, it would be a very noticeable deal.
Just a guess, but I definitely agree with you on the damage thing. It feels like two rockets blow up a tank from full health.

Well I had a much more fun experience today and actually played more than 2 games. ;3 I even unlocked a few cool things to play with.
The beta does still derp on me some. Placing equipment is a major pain and often takes me 30+ seconds of trying over and over and over and over before it places. BTW I have to listen for the sound and watch the map to know when it places. Several times I actually placed it but still showed that I was holding it in my hands.
They are an even bigger pain to pickup again! *groan* Which REALLY sucks when a sniper has decided to start tactical loitering your beacon. It's basically impossible for me to pick it up then, even if I kill the sniper, because they can respawn and get back in position before I can actually pickup the friggin thing most of the time. Can you just shoot your own Foxtrotting deployment beacon or something? Seriously they need a remote disable or something. Although I do like how you don't have to place it again every time you die. Lets you use it with other classes and avoids the tedium of Tactical Insertions in CoD. (They always annoy me, because unless you place them really close the lloooooonnnnggggg placement animation will slow you down every time you spawn, which makes some of the best places to put them, where you could respawn more safely, too far away to be practical.)
Even worse, it is literally impossible for me to defuse bombs. It just doesn't work. I stand right next to it and hold B and all it does is spaz out. I think it's probably a lag issue, but it does blow chunks.
I'm gonna hit the beta again tomorrow for some more carnage and fun. Really look forward to the full game after they have worked out these bugs and vastly improved the netcode. (They better improve the netcode!!!)
Compared to this the netcode in BO is silky smooth. lol
PS. Now knowing how to do it I spammed the hell out of the spot button! lol You'd think it wouldn't be all that useful because it only marks targets you're looking at which should theoretically be dead in 5 seconds anyway, but in practice it's REALLY damn useful! Hell half the time if I couldn't get a good enough line of sight on somebody just spotting and suppressing them was more than enough to let a teammate finish them off. It felt almost like I was killing them by proxy. "Go kill this guy for me, bro." It also got me a few revenges letting teammates take down enemies that had just killed me. ;3 Good times.

Yeah, that happens to me occasionally. I'll stand up, prone, crouch, or move around, yet it never lets me plant/defuse. That also reminds me of something. The button for defusing is separate from the button for picking up a weapon. Something so simple is something so nice.

about picking up the beacon: i've had a lotof success when selecting empty hands (where the beacon used to be) and then holding the pickup-button. works like a charm. just don't ask me how i figured that out, i have no clue^^

Yeah that seems to work a LOT better, oddly enough.
I've also taken to using jump to get up from a crouch, since the game will often do nothing, send me to prone, or stand up then crouch again if I just click the stick. O,o

I've always just used a short, sprinting jump. It works good most of the time, and it's the technique I've used for throwing grenades farther since...forever.

wokred particularely well in CoD4...ahh the days of senseless frag grenade mortaring^^ seriously though, c4 throwing distance needs a boost. i understand that they don't want you to toss it into the Nth floor of a multistory building, but as it is it's really a little short.

As far as I'm concerned, CoD had C4 throwing perfect. They went a respectable distance, but they went nowhere near as far as grenades. In CoD, I could throw and detonate in one swift motion. In BF, I have to throw, make sure it went somewhere, make sure I'm far enough away to not die, then get shot before I can click the trigger. I understand them not wanting to make C4 into super grenades, but as they are now, it seems like planting in advance is the only reliable way to use them.

just read something interesting in a french gaming magazine.
you have all seen the console screenshots of the final version, and i think we can all agree that they look pretty damn awesome. now here's the killer: appearently, console graphics resemble pc graphics on 'low' settings! can you imagine how preposterously fantastic this thing is going to look on ultra?
