The MAV also has the ability to use sheer willpower to destroy enemy equipment by left-clicking at it (from quite a range, too).

A team with an MAV up doing spotting versus a team without will completely and utterly WRECK them. What he said. With the assistance of a pal on Teamspeak and his MAV-guided communications, I moved decisively and mostly alone - staying covert with a suppressed RPK-74M - in a game of Rush on a dominantly infantry map. Kill ratio of 56 to 1. Planted four of the MCOMs. More than 14000 points. And he barely got 1000 for his true MVP action. THIS. Think about how useful the UAV is in COD. Now imagine a UAV that can spot everyone, everywhere, forever, not only marking them on your minimap but literally putting Doritos over their heads on your screen. A single good MAV operator can give your entire team wallhacks.

The MAV is in fact armed, it has a single shot weapon that's used to destroy enemy equipment, you just have to hover in place for a while to acquire a lock and then it'll destroy it, this includes EOD bots, enemy MAVS, beacons, motions sensors, SOFLAM and so on. It's quite an added bonus on top of all the spotting as well as being extremely helpful to the team. As Den said, having a team mate up in the MAV talking to you about all enemy threats at the same time as marking turns you into a one man wrecking machine, you become a ninja, we just had a little mess around with it and ended a game with 19 knife kills. I'd rather have one of these things in the air than an attack heli and that's saying something, the attack heli is a monster in the hands of a good pilot/gunner combo with all the unlocks. You can fire its 'weapon' without a lock-on, and it seems to have a small area of effect where it will still destroy equipment.

I don't get this.... How do you get 7500 points with the MAV? You only get 10 points for every spotted enemy that gets killed...

I don't get this.... How do you get 7500 points with the MAV? You only get 10 points for every spotted enemy that gets killed... Assuming that he was flying the MAV above every enemy (earning a +20 point gain from a Motion Sensor Assist) and had spotted every enemy (+10) killed by the top player down to the two guys who got 11 kills each, that's approximately 7500 points.

That's pretty slick, not gonna lie.
Speaking of the MAV: has anyone else noticed a sort of "invisible ceiling" effect on some of the maps? I think Seine Crossing and the Bazaar are the two I've seen the most problems with on the Xbox.

i noticed it on seine crossing. i think it's by design, since the maps are rather compact. so you can always just recon one street instead of the whole map at once.

Ahhh, I didn't realize you get 20 motion Sensor assist points too. Still makes it less useful in the console version, 'cause you have a lot fewer enemies to spot.

I think Seine Crossing and the Bazaar are the two I've seen the most problems with on the Xbox. I had the idea of making my MAV an undestroyable motion sensor lying on an unreachable ceiling at Grand Bazaar, and found out about the height limit. I think the limit is to prevent what I had envisioned doing.

I'm having a terrible time getting grips on the M39. I know it's supposed to be 2 hit kills up close, 3 far away, but no matter what I do, spam or deliberate shots, it feels like the bullets go straight through my enemy unless they're 200m out. There are so many battles I thought I should have won.

Anyone verify that hardcore is 60 damage? So the mk11 should be 2 hit kills up tp 100M.

you guys are blowing my mind: - did not know you could land the MAV and have it still provide spotting info, like a T-UGS, that's awesome. - did not know you could place multiple T-UGS. - did not know you could do something else while having your EOD disarm an MCOM? Wait, Multiple T-UGS? How?

Not sure about planting multiple T-UGS but you can resupply them from a Support's ammo pack without having to pick it up.

Since you guys seem to know your stuff when it comes to balence, is it just me, or do the bolt action rifles need a buff? I think bolt action snipers should be a OHK at close to close medium range if it hits the chest, maybe only the upper chest/very upperchest/entire chest depending on the actual weapon. I'm thinking smallest area for OHK should be the sv98, medium m40, and largest should be m98b. Personally, I think it should be so the sv98 is a OHK at close range to the upper chest, the m40 should be OHK at close range to the chest, or upper chest at medium close. The m98b should be OHK to the entire torso/back at close range, at chest at medium-close, and upper chest at medium. The maximum range for a OHK outside of headshots for any of the above should not exceed the OHK range from bc2, though. Also, Right now, the Saiga and M1014 are basically useless. The 870 does more damage, the Dao has more ammo, and the Usas fires faster. Increase the spread and recoil of the usas by a SMALL amount, and reduce the damage drop off range a SMALL amount. IE: Make it so the range it starts to loss power shorter. Increase the ROF of the Saiga, and the reduce the recoil/spread of the m1014, again, by a SMALL amount. Reduce the fire rate of the Dao a VERY SMALL amount, if it's needed, it''s hard to tell exactly without the actual coded stats. Anybody else agree?

Yea the bolt actions are really weak options right now, unless you are gonna sit 100+m back from the action.
DICE seems to really want the recon to stay away from the action as much as possible.
The MAV requires you be in a safe place. The spawn beacon and T-UGS makes tons of sound that requires that you keep your distance somewhat, and the guns are doo-doo if the opponent can make accurate return fire. On your other note: The m1014 and the saiga are indeed garbage, they fire way too slowly for the damage they do, which I think is only a little more than the DAO or USAS. I also noticed the M1014 has ridiculous spread, it's like 4x bigger than the actual size of the aiming circle. The saiga seems a bit better, but again there's no comparison with the better shotguns.
The DAO-12 and USAS are far better, because you can spam with bigger mags and higher ROF.
The 870mcs is still by far the best shot gun for use with buck or flechette for CQC only. Many of the automatic weapons will outspray the other shotguns minus possibly the USAS if your spread is even slightly sub optimal. The USAS is pretty good, but there's no reason to go for it over the 870mcs unless you want to use frag rounds, or possibly slugs, which are just frag rounds minus the explosions.
Frag rounds are great, I cannot recommend them enough. Disregard the part that says they don't do as much damage, I've 2-4 shotted people with frag rounds up to about ~100m with aimed fire. You just have to get the round to directly hit the person to do some good damage, they have a lot of drop and somewhat bad deviation from center, but the explosions kind of makes up for that.

Since we are on the topic of shotguns, I've found the M26 MASS to be amazing. I don't like having a shotgun as primary only as that really limits the kinds of engagements you can win, but having an extra shotgun is extremely clutch.
I typically roll an M416 w/ACOG. Having the M26 for room clearing is great. It's powerful, fires fast, and has decent range. I haven't played around much with the other shotties so I don't have a great frame of reference, but I've been very satisfied with the added versatility that the M26 provides. Coming from someone who thought under-barrel shotguns were uesless since MW2, this is a very pleasant surprise.

Well Demize confirmed that all guns (utilizing the same caliber) will have recoil/spread based primarily on RoF, which makes sense. I asked how different rounds affected this though, e.g. if a 5.56 with a RoF of 700 would be more manageable than a 7.62 with say, 600?

Sorry, but I have to agree with kathinka here. Raising the close-range effectiveness of bolt-actions into OHK territory is just going to encourage people to play RDS or IRNV SV98's and run into close combat. It would completely take Recon out of its role of long-range fire support/reconnaissance and turn it into a CQC machine. I've been using the SV98 a lot lately and I've been pleased with its performance; I think the bolt-actions are fine how they are.

While I agree that may be an issue, a lot of people would rather have them do that than sit back. The bigger issue is that the bolt actions are basically uselss compared to the semi autos unless you land a headshot. Well, my BIGGEST issue is that medic/assualt has to trade in either the medpack or the m320 for the other, which severely limits the class. EVery other class has like 7 different active tools, medic/assualt only has 2. I also think the bloody screen should be played around with a bit... But that doesn't belong here

The bigger issue is that the bolt actions are basically uselss compared to the semi autos unless you land a headshot. While that might be true at medium range, once you get further than 100 metres away, and equip the ballistic scope and bipod, bolt actions are very effective. You generally end up killing mostly other snipers or random stationary targets, but once you get a bit of practise you can take out moving ones as well. And remember as recon your primary goal should be to find a good spot to sit where you can see all the action, and spot enemies for the rest of your team to take out - and of course take out the recons on the other team doing the same thing. They're also really useful for guarding the MCOMS in rush, and I find rush in general a really good mode for getting recon kills, as there is a more clearly defined front line so you know where to be looking. But at the same time I do miss the old school one hit kill snipers...it just looks like this game is forcing class roles into their proper places.

I thought you could set multiple T-UGS with the help of an ammo pack but my brother tried it and said you couldn't, so I'll need to test it again to confirm.

Does that mean that you know for sure that others are currently working on it, or does that mean that you just kinda are expecting that someone else will pick the task up?
