If the chart released is correct, and that's a big if, the M240B is better than the pig in EVERY WAY. Is there any reason at all to use the pig over the M240 until they nerf it?

The only plus that I can think of is that the lower RPM would be an advantage for an individual who can't control their recoil well.

maybe recoil or accuracy are somehow better?

The time I spent getting a star on it was the most painful time I spent with any primary weapon in the game. I don't like any of the support class weapons really, and this one is just an absolutely miserable gun. The gun has pretty bad recoil and spread, like most of the other lmgs, but it is slow as molasses to boot, just a fail combination.

I like the pig its slower sure but the recoil feels alot more controllable in full auto than the m240
that being said the m240b is the most manly gun that ever manlied

It is pointless. It might get a buff someday, but they'd be more likely to nerf the M240. As it stands, the PKP is in the same shoes as the M60. Still, as good as the M240 is, using the PKP is more fun. I've never gotten the chance to use the M60 yet (my next Support unlock!), but judging from the limited stats we have so far, I expect it to be a slightly slower PKP. As long as you see the enemy first, which is what Supports are supposed to be doing, the PKP doesn't suffer much at all. The M249 and M240 are just more forgiving in case you want to rambo.

The pig will never be pointless, for it's the pig. It's just awesome regardless of stats
But really, I haven't unlocked it yet so don't have an opinion on it yet. But for me, the PKP vs M240 balance is that the pkp is more controllable with better spread than the M240. In bipod stance the M240 poops on every other machine gun of course
Recoil is a lot more noticable/harder to control for me because I play with a controller. I'd say for MK bros, the M240 is without any doubt the better option

Someone brought up a good point in that in certain spread tests the M60 had drastically less (sometimes even possible NO random deviation); this could be a game-changer if so. I'm going to test this out on my server later today whilst firing at walls and measuring spread across various distances. I was also being told they were getting similar results with the G36C (been trying to assist the individuals creating the spreadsheet that's been passed around when I can).
Need hard data stats!

Picked it up last night; compared to the 240 it seems to perform slightly better in the 25-40m+ range, whereas 1-25m the 240 is clearly superior. The M60 also seems to have significantly less horizontal muzzle drift during prolonged bursts as well, and due to the low RoF it's much easier to negate much of the initial recoil.

I opened the M60 up last night myself and was expecting it to be horrible, but it seemed OK after I got used to it. It's hard for me to believe that DICE would have it shoot 500 rounds/min and not give it decent damage. It's really hard to tell how much damage it does just from playing because we don't know the multipliers and you never know how much health your opponent had to begin with.
But, from what I could tell, it seemed to do 28 damage from fairly close range. It still takes 4 shots to kill if that number is right, but I wonder what the head-shot multiplier is cause a few times I dropped the guy super fast.
But it's hard for me to believe that the M60 doesn't do the most damage. It was so good in the original build of BC2 I refuse to believe they would've made it the worst LMG in the game.

If you recall it was one of the two OP weapons of choice when BC2 first came out, and then was beaten to within an inch of its life by the nerfbat.

M60, compared to M240 is freakin no recoil. Even without grip pig don't have any noticeable horizontal recoil, just vertical kick. Irons are IMO the best from all, maybe except RPK.
Low rate of fire? Problem only in hipfire spray contest. Positive is LONG suppressive fire, when coupled with big ammo and bipod, as well ammo conservative in rambo mode.

Finally have the M60 unlocked. The sound alone is enough to make me love it. And I don't know if it's just because I haven't used an LMG in a while, but it seems so huge. It takes up half your screen when not ADS. I mean, that's kind of a bad thing, but when combined with the sound it just makes you feel like you're using a manly man's weapon. And that's what the M60 is all about. Good enough for me!
And yeah, I think the M60's one and only niche would be suppression. With extended mags and bursting, you can fire all day. And although I hate bipods, it would probably be the best choice out of all weapons for it.

I unlocked the pig too, and it's the most badass-looking weapon so far
It's the only 7.62 LMG that's pretty usable at range without a bipod (the m240 and PKP have too much horizontal recoil). With a grip, I think the competition does a little better although the M60 still is pretty good (and still has less spread-buildup)
If you want raw power; pick the M240 (best choice for bipod IMO). If you want have as much accuracy as possible with a small decrease in damage output; pick the M60. The PKP is the happy medium

It should be m60 = pig cuz people will say the m60 a lot and it would come out, "the the pig."
anywho, I used this on SQrush today and it was pretty sexy.. maybe it does good sustained fire... that would be my guess... it does shoot slower so that's almost proof right there. The centerspeed has longer to work before another shot goes.
The clip just lasts longer... pretty awesome I think. I feel more relaxed shooting for no reason or for the intimidation factor. OR SUPPPPPPRESSSSSSSSSIIINNGGG FFFFIIIIREEEE!!!!
A fine piece of gun indeed.
Story time: I saw someone and shot at him and he escaped so I just continued shooting in that direction... when I got to 30 rounds left in my belt I paused... then the guy bolted across the street and up towards me (Looking down at A in siene crossing, but in SQrush) and I lit him up... I bet he was thinking, I GOT TIME TO RUSH THIS JERK!!! lol no you do not.

I actually loved the M60 (and the PKP) during my time using it, but this may be because my natural style tends toward mid-long range combat and both of them were a breeze to use at these ranges once you got used to them. Plus, both of them are perfect for mass-suppression with a 200 round belt/box/mag.
